Stay in bed or go start a fight?

I just had one..

Began with my two year old PCs hard drive dying completely. Two weeks minimum, a trip to Germany and a ton of cash to get the info taken off the damn thing

Then I discovered my back up schedule had slipped

THEN ! a letter from some Swiss lawyer, working on behalf of the lady who owns the building we have sub rented saying she is not happy with what we intend even though the local town council have said we are fine to do it.

So work is on hold till we sort it out and I have NO records OR info OR work to finish

Here's a tip - back up your PC NOW! before it's too late

Merry bloody Xmas huh?

Anyway - PLEASE WILL those folk I am working with, sending stuff or money to or simply who know me and want to say Hi...

RESEND Email addresses and any relevant recent Emails to [email protected]

This specifically includes Invoices, slot work related replies ( STINGRAY ?)

Cheers all

Hows about stay in bed AND start a fight!

That is awful, Swiss, so sorry - I thought you had been quietish lately.
Although I don't always follow my own advice could I suggest a REALLY good investment is an external USB2/Firewire hard drive. I have one and can throughly recommend it.

In UK, around £200 will buy 250 GigaBytes - complication free, simply plug and play, with the bonus of great portability, enabling you to take just the drive (and its PSU and leads) with you, wherever you go. Tremendously handy for mass movement of data. Plug it into anything that has either of the requisite interfaces.

Yes, excellent!
The big 250 GBs weren't available from Iomega when I got mine, so I chose a Maxtor and it has proven faultless.
Very similar equivalents available from LaCie, who I believe incorporate the PSU inside the drive case, and from Western Digital who don't, but their case is transparent, so you can see its 'parts' and a million glowing lights!

Sorry to hear of all your problems Swiss, hope you get things sorted soon. If it makes you feel any better, I've not had the best week either -
day before Xmas eve - car broke down, needed new battery
Xmas eve - camera died (2 young daughters, christmas, no camera, sod it!)
Xmas day - broke a bloody tooth!

It's no wonder I'm going bald!

Cheer up mate
