Hi guys and gals,

The names Dai, 26, from South Wales UK. I'm into Rallying, Scale Models, RC Cars, Scalectrix, Pixel Cars and anything Retro.

Had a bit of revival when moving house. Came across a suitcase full of my old bits. Reignighted the interest I suppose, so decided to see what info I could find on the net. I was quite amazed by the whole scene. I own a C134 Renault Elf F1, C122 Mini Clubman, C052 Mk1 Mexico (a bit butchered from a child) and one of the Mighty Metros'. I used to own the RS Cosworth set, but gave it away, and now I want it back. Looking at a few on ebay so may take the plunge soon.

I have absolutely no idea how to repair or restore a car, so I'm after some advice as I'd like to learn. Hope to catch you guys on the forum, and please excuse me as I will probably ask the dullest of questions.

Yeah I noticed there were a few different types of Mk1 Escorts available. I'm going to try and restore it. I believe you can still get the parts. I'll have a go anyway.

Interesting signature picture. Something not quite right though, it shows discs on the rear, 340's had drums.

Got a cage in it and the bonnet hinges have been moved to the back too!

Oh! Thats a race cage? I thought it wa a ladder, that was why the rear hatch was open

I'd forgotten about the front hinge on the bonnet. Yep that IS pretty special....

No I rally a E30 BMW 318is, brilliant car fair play, has got the BMW Challenge suspension on it so by god does it handle!

I'd love a 340 slot car! 3 door or 5 door option = Win for me.
