Hi guys, going to have a home HO drag strip as can have a 19 foot length strip fit in my kitchen. Question is is it ok to build a drag strip with normal Tomy or Tyco track and buy slot dragon timing set or is it best to buy a full Autoworld set? If is best to get a set where as in uk? Thanks

Lee,

A full length HO drag strip is 20ft 9 and a half inches long, over its timed distance.

19ft gives you a decent run, probably longer then the AW set.

Tomy or tyco track is fine, and is actually better than the AW stuff as it all comes slightly bumpy!

Timing is the only issue, but i would use infrareds at either end, and have some kind of timing. The AW set has no timing, just lights capable of catching jump starts and a light at the other end to announce the winner.

If you do want a AW set, you will have to get one from the US. I had a mate travelling over the pond who kindly brought a whole set back.

Andy P has sourced just the 2 ends of the AW set and used his own track, controllers etc.
