The offer for Lima has been keeping everyone guessing for a while. I don't think it's final yet, but it seems to be the best one on the table.

I see too that Scalextric won the prize for "Best Investor Communication' at the Plc Awards. I wonder how many slotracers voted?

They deserve to do so well. I`m sure a few slotties voted in the communications award, especialy after Mope highlighted it. Share price has done well. I know someone who will be well chuffed with that. It`s not me

I'm glad that Hornby are doing well but I think the award is a joke, whoever won it - only genuine investors should have been able to vote. Internet polls like this are valueless.

Small investors who are in it for sentimental reasons or because they want to support the company whose products they like should be cautious - there's probably a good few Leeds Utd fans who regret their investment.

Ahi ahi, poor Lima!

As an italian boy, long long time ago I used to play with Lima and Rivarossi HO trains and I have also collected many of them. But I think now the owners are losing the battle; better in the hands of Hornby : they have made wonders with slot cars.

Wankel, speaking as a Leeds Utd supporter, I would say any investor should be cautious wherever you choose to invest. As for the award being a joke, my opinion for what it is worth, is that I`d rather see Hornby get it than some faceless outfit of which I have no interest. But then again being a Leeds Utd supporter, awards are very rare nowadays! If Hornby do better then I`m sure we will get a better product etc so I`m happy for them to rerceive any incentive to push on, the hobby can only benefit I believe.

I can't see how they can take this as an incentive - a good few of these votes will have come from folks who have not invested and have no intention of investing in the companies. Where is the value in that?

Do we have any genuine Hornby investors on the board and if so, can you enlighten me as to what they do better than other companies you speculate in?

Ah. Anyone could post that they are a shareholder... and therein lies the hole in this award.

Hey, it's all just opinions and I'm chock full of 'em.

Investing in Hornby?

I do know one other collector who invests in Hornby.

And to be honest it makes much more sence than investing in others!

Given a choice (and we all have one!) do you invest in something you know (in some cases ALOT) about i.e. Hornby or invest in something you no nothing about?

Me i invest in my own company i know alot about that!

I also have a few shares in Hornby, but mainly to see the anual report.
