We're three guys racing GT cars on a 22 meter track. We use our own rules.

We held 26 heats (2 players against each other, 2 heats pr. battle - one on each lane) of 20 laps, and scored it like this:

The race stops immediately when the last driver has raced 20 laps.

The winning driver scores 1 point for winning, and 1 point extra per lap he has clicked extra before the last driver comes in at 20 laps.

So a lap counter of 20 - 20 would only give 1 point (since the winning driver did not click a whole extra lap), while a lap counter of 21 - 20 would give 2 points to the winning driver.

We also used the following rules:
When a driver is derailed, the driver yelles "track!" and the other driver has to stop as fast as possible. If the car got on the other driver's track he yells "rider!" and the race stops. To continue the race the third non participating driver simply says "Race!", since counting to three and simply doesn't work because of false starts.

How do you score your races and what rules do you use when there's no way to have real marshalling?

A new one to me also (apart from a brief sojourn last November) is to use crash and burn formats.

The one used at Farnham Racing Club and also for two of the races at the SF birthday party is;
Simple to use,
Fast, allowing many classes in one session.
Great fun and most importantly of all -
Available in a downloadable format with everything you need.
I have to let one of the Farnham boys give you the link though as I can't find it, sorry..

PM Jexy1 - Mr Material UK - Slik or Ecurie Ecosse for more info and don't forget to pester Ecurie for some insights to his truly awesome Lola tuning technics!

In Havdrup we race heats of 3 minuts and everybody has to race in every lane before a race is over.
So the guy who drove the most laps, is the winner.
In our serie - DLMS (Danish Le Mans Serie) - we give points like they do in reallife F-1: 10 p. for victory, 8 points to second place, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 points and 1 point to the rest.
We race DLMS once a month and only the 9 best results count, so you can miss a couple of racenights!

We use Race Control equipment with a SlotCarManager program.

You just gotta see it!!!!

So if one driver stops 10 cm before the finishing lap, he doesn't get a lap count? That's why we changed it from being race over when the first driver passed 20 laps to being when the last driver passed 20 laps, this way the leading driver really has to prove his skills by clicking a whole lap before scoring extra.

Thanx for the invitation, we probably will pop by one day and have a look.

Hasn't he already proved it by crossing the line first?

Thats the right Farnham detiails but I know there is a webpage with their rules on it in download format. The info will be here soon.

Slotrace.DK - you use the same sytem as we do, also similar races although ours tend to be longer most nights.

In the general trend of things in the last year or so, maybe we should all be talking of swap weekends.

Swissracer, yes you are right!

However, since I'm far better than the others they wanted to tone down my victory points by forcing me to take whole laps to gain extra points.

Unfair isn't it?

Hi schnuz

The rules used at Farnham can be found at:

http://www.nscc.co.uk/2004%202005%20championship%20regs.htm

These rules we wrote for the NSCC are based around the Farnham rules for Crash and burn.

But basically:

Ten laps crash and burn (if you come off your out).
Points for all four positions (4, 3, 2, 1)
Each racers drives in each lane

The only additional rule we have at Farnham (to speed things up) is that when two racers drop out (i.e. leaving two racing) we go straight to a two laps sprint as the first place driver crosses the line.

Most nights (2.5 hours) we manage to race 8 classes - 32 races with this system.

Good luck

Gareth
