Oh yes......This car will make a fine addition to my racing stable, although possibly it would be more at home in my "limited edition" display cabinet!. Thank you Russell. The driver figure in mine will of course be wearing one of the infamous three armed jumpers although the third arm may be difficult to model with any degree of accuracy as I do not have any 1:1 Drawings to work from.

I would also like to thank you for raising this topic as you are right concerning the very limited information, regarding construction progress, coming from the Howmet household.

Howmet has been warned that lack of progress will result in the re-introduction of the sig. pic, (although for the sake of everyone's sanity I am reluctant to do this).

I belive he is still using the feeble excuse that he can't work out how to use his new Digital Camera!.....Perhaps Mrs. Howmet may be able to assist, as I understand that in addition to her many other talents she is a fine photographer, in the Lawson mould.

All very interesting Howmet, but I'm afraid it cut's no ice with me........

All this talk of exploding hampsters, pressure of work and domestic obligations are an excuse and can be tolerated no more......

I'm sure I have the full support of Russell and John regarding this matter, but you leave me no choice.

My apologise to anyone easily offended by my signature picture.

Excellent work Russell, the little beast almost looks, dare I say it, attractive!.

However have no fear, because as soon as I get my hands on one, it will be built to represent the very ugly car in my sig. pic, complete with those awful orange Revolution wheels.

Howmet is strangly quiet, and JP and myself are a little worried about him, we feel he may have tempted to the "Dark Side" and is constructing a Wing Car from one of the infamous three armed jumpers!, and one of Fergy's high powered 60's Formula one Proxy car motors. We understand Mrs. H is very keen to try and "ween" him off posting at Slot Forum, in order that he can build her a new "Ground Effect" knitting machine to increase production levels of her jumpers, thereby dominating the World Market.

Well!...Well!...Well!....This is indeed good news.

I look forward with great anticipation to see this completed model.

I have made significant progress towards completing mine, the chassis is 90% finished and I have started to paint the body. The interior is complete.

As much as I hate to say this, I am somewhat attracted to this tiny car, and feel a Plasticard Rail Car could join it on the project list!. (No i didn't really say that......It's horrible).

I feel Russell is enjoying himself distributing these monsters from his Command post in Dubai, and it is somehow part of an evil plot to sabotage the Slot Racing centres of the world. After all if these things start to catch on with the general public, (heaven forbid!), it could mean the end for the likes of Fly, Slot.it, Scalextrix etc......, as they just could not compete withe the shear ugliness of this demon.

Unfortunatley this frenzy of Xzylon building still will not permit me to remove my signature picture, as this can only be done on completion of Howmet's own scratchbuilt creation.

Regards

Alan

PS JP you should also see the "other" shell that Russell sent me...now that will be a challenge.

Very good John...I hope the pills I sent you soon start to take effect.

I must also report that I too have almost finished my little devil.............In between bouts of nausea I even managed to get a lick of paint onto the body.

Pictures tomorrow if :-

1) I can hold the camera still long enough to take a picture.

2) the camera lens does not crack

3) Russell stops laughing long enough.

You may have also noticed that the signature picture has now gone, this in no way is related to Howmet's progress, (or lack of), but only to comply with Nuro's request for smaller signature pics.

I fear soon we may have to dispatch Thumb and his able assistant Argent to investigate the mystery of "Howmet's Virtual Xzylon".

Regards

Alan

PS Russell, the other shell you sent me is proving to be a nightmare!. I think you do it on purpose!.

I think Phil's picture of the prototype car with the Lotus Seven'ish nose would make an even more appealing model.

Forget about the exhaust pipe JP, there are more important issues to consider.

I'm afraid I still can't make out where the third Cylon would fit in the car, as did we mention it's really tiny, and only a Cylon of Harry Porsche type stature, (following his recent crash diet), would fit in the back.

PS Decals are drying.....nearly there.

Oh Dear.....All those of a nervous disposition, please turn away now.

The Xzylon is finished..............

Chassis is straighforward PCB with Slot.it 23K motor and pod. Gears are Slot.it as are axles. Guide is TSRF and wheels are Scalextrix Lotus 7.

Here it is toying with another car I picked up recently from somewhere or other, (did seem to have a lot of sand in it).

By the way did I mention how tiny it is?...........

Gentlemen....You want more punishment?

This is the basic chassis and how it fits beneath the bodywork, (I use the term loosly). I'm afraid I painted this one which makes it more difficult to see. All PCB with solid front brass Axle. Three mounts to the body used , I think you can just make out the rear two.

This is the top of the chassis. Very easy, and quick to knock up.

John...The decals are mine, produced with Powerpoint and printed on a simple HP Printer/Scanner/Copier onto Craftycomputer White decal paper. I've only just got into printing my own following your good advice.

The motor is a littlr cracker, the best one in Slot.it's excellent range IMHO. Plently of low down grunt, and I can get those little wheels to spin fairly easily. The magnet is in at the moment, and the car seems to run pretty well, roughly on a par with my Ninco healey.

I must say the gear mesh is not as smooth as my other Slot.it set ups, I do hope I haven't got one of those iffy pinions Maurizio was on about in another thread!.

Fergy...The motor is of course temporary, as I'm waiting to fit one of your Demon Strap Motors.
You do have some left don't you?........or are they all fitted to your stable of 60's F1 cars?.

Russell.....Are you sure they are part of the invasion fleet?.......I seem to remember they had one red eye which moved from side to side and I don't recall they had a shape like that!, but perhaps they are heavily disguised?

John is that Howmet in the pit with that chainsaw?....Perhaps he thinks the Xzylon was manufactured by Vanquish and is looking to reduce it in scale.

What I don't think he realises is just how tiny that car is!.

Regards

Alan
