Hi Guys, we all know there is a small list of 'chosen' cars we race if you wish to be competative in your group, the nsr mosler or scaleauto toyota/radical for sport and spirit pug for saloon.

I know Chris has tried nsr porsche and corvette and Jim has the fly bmw & nsr clio going well but generally the first statement above is true. I'm not tired/bored of them, nor want to discuss banning these but these classes have the potential to become stale????

There are some potentially great cars out there now, Scaleauto bringing out a Merc, Jag & a Honda. I would love an NSR corvette & a porsche; a scaleauto merc, jag and a honda etc etc...but I can't waste money on cars that won't challange the mosler nor qualify for saloon. We as a club are going to miss out an exceptional set of cars as they are possibly not able to be used in sport for non-competative reasons and that they don't qualify for saloon!

How about a GT2 super/ GT class?????? If we are to increase subs lets at least get something for it..an extra race.

Thoughts & ideas guys......

Pete,
I'd love to have a separate class even if it was only occasionally but I can't see it happening. I have most of the cars you mention just sat there doing nothing, however I am aware that these things cost money (good money!) And there are those that are new to the club/hobby that would struggle, especially with everything else we would like to get upto... Looking at the NSR's there are some nice new ones coming out soon the Audi for instance check out the "EvotecShop Slot Racing" page on Facebook WOW!

It does seem a shame that we don't get to work with the new chassis etc just because we don't have a class for them. Particularly the Porsche's were ripe for a class of their own.

You may have noticed I'm not overly fussed about results I enjoy getting there on my own, tweeking, and learning as I go along. I'm game if you want to have a class of our own?
You choose and we'll "race within the race", which one do you fancy having a go with?

If the others see us having some fun you never know they may join in?

What about..... 'run what you want' (must be OME plastic chassis)
but if it makes it into an establshed group (either you or by another member) or achieves a specific lap time it is then disqualified from the 5th group.

could be used as a development group to run experiments without losing championship points

I reckon the point is that you are comparing a developed car against a new one.

The Molser is a good car and certainly well developed.

18 months ago it was Molser only but Jim put the month into the Scaleauto and it is now quick.

If the same effort went into another car it would also be there.

Ey Up,

I know that Ian, amongst others, is concerned about finish times.

Valid point chaps.

But, we are usually all there waiting patiently, or not, for SWMBO to bother to turn up, after enjoying his family meal time.

Can anyone else remember the "****e" poured on Colin J's head for being late due to having a family meal time ??.

Effectively destroyed the club for some years, leading to, amongst many other knock-ons, the retirement of "Big G"..

There is at least 30/45 mins in which we could run another class.

That is not counting the opportunities when Big G is up and running !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

vbr Chris.
