Well today will be my last day on the forum till October 7th - cause I am getting
married Saturday
and then off on my Honeymoon

I have also quit my job at McLaren today (its all go !) and am moving to a company up in Cambridge at the end of November which will mean I will
finally be getting a house big enough for a permanent track

So catch you all later and take it easy

Congrats and all that......, but if you are looking for any clubs to race at then are two which I go to. One is in Gamlingay which is held every fortnight on a Monday. The other which is held once a month (usually the first thursday and friday of each month) at Offord D'arcy, which is near Huntingdon. Both friendly clubs, bring what cars you want, which use Ninco track, both of which are 4 laners.
I don't suppose you would want to leave the wife for the first few weeks, but when you come through the other side, and if you are interested send me a pm.

Married, new home , new job all togehter - no stress there! Hope it all goes smoothly and you and your partner have a superb time.

If you fancy clubbing we're just up the road in Wellingborough (one member travels up from Cambridge) and race every week. Look in the club section for details

cheers

Thanks for your kind words guys - I unfortunatly don't have a mini
slot car set to take with me - but i'm sure I can find plenty to keep
my hands busy on honeymoon

So see you all when I get back - and I hope my Spirit of america Porker is
waiting on my doorstep when I do !

Chris

P.s. Also crazy for leaving Mclaren ? - nah! - its just a job

[voice of cynical old married man]Oh well, there goes your pension.[/voice of cynical old married man]

Seriously, hope it all goes well on the day and thereafter. After a few nervous months you find yourself slipping into a comfortable routine and wonder why you didn't do it sooner. So much for joining a slotcar club, marriage is totally unpredictable!

Hey there Chris!

Congratulations buddy
have a fantastic day Saturday and I'm sure I speak for us all by hoping for great weather on your special day.

It seems ages since I last saw you and now I am met with this sad news that you are moving away. I'm sure things are going to work out wonderfully for you whatever you do as you have a lot of drive and passion. Just remeber to invite me along for a go on your track when you are settled.

All the very best for the future Chris,

Have a fantastic honeymoon,

Julian.

Well I'm back , and thank you all for your kind wishes. So far married life is good (not any different to before I was married to be honest !).
The move to the new job /area is going good - we found a place last weekend
and should be getting confirmation if we got it today - so over christmas with any
luck will be starting my very own "Project Loft" , or more to the fact
"Project DIGITAL Loft"

Julian - will be in touch real soon , need to make sure house sorted before I can
commit to anything cause if it don't come through it means more weekends
up Cambridge way and tons more phone calls - god I hate estate agents.
Still will be finally be able to realise my dream of having more toilets than people
living in the house.
