Interstate Home Slot Racers (IHSR), a 1/32 scale home-based slot racing club active since 1994, kicks off its 2017-2018 season on Saturday, 10/7 at a member's home in Abingdon, Maryland, USA. The venue is a 4 lane routed, landscaped layout with full race management.

IHSR races on members' home layouts spread over Maryland, Pennsylvania, with one in West Virginia, USA. A minimum of 7 layouts will be hosting events this season, all but one being routed 3 or 4 lane wood tracks. The lone plastic track is a rare, THREE lane true 1/24 scale Scalextric layout.

Because we are so spread out, and some racers drive up to an hour and a half or more to get to a venue, our events are day-long affairs, on Saturdays (this season with an occasioonal Sunday). The race days are spread out roughly every 2 to 3 weeks during the season.

At each event, we run our 4 standard classes (run 1 or all, racers' choice) and, time and interest permitting, the host may run an IROC sprint to close out the day. A typical race day will draw 10 to 14 racers, but we always welcome newcomers. We always have plenty of class legal loaners for guys trying us out.

IHSR's staying power isn't in a 'win at all costs' culture. Rather we're about camaraderie and general enjoyment of the hobby. Things get competitive in the heat of battle, but being a non points series, by the end of the day everyone's forgotten who won what.

Classes, the ever evolving schedule, discussions, and pictures/reports of races past can be found on our site:

Always looking for new racers, AND if you're in the region, have put together that great 3 or 4 lane layout in your garage or basement with nobody to run with, please reach out. We are always looking to add new venues!!!
