Just a newbie questios about track layouts.

More a theoretical question. I haven't found a final track layout, yet - still playing around with my +/- 20 m of track pieces, finding out that it's too much for my room, having to stay as a rug racer (it's our guest room, so I may race 80% - 90% of the year, but can't place the track on a table).

My laptop and Ultimate Racer are running hot, at the moment, searching for THE perfect track layout.
Here and there, there might be a preferred running direction for this or that track layout.

So the question, coming to my mind, here and there:

Is it possible to use the C7042 in both directions, equally (fixed for one layout, of course - not running on the same track once in one, second time in other direction. Speaking of permanently turning the direction against manual recommendation)?

Of course, I could turn it around - but then, I would have to put all the controller cables under the track - not good.
Tried, and it seems to work, but am I running into problems I forget to think about, at the moment?

Of course, I have to care for XLC and CLC - I am aware of that.

Actually if you load the latest firmware you can even do this. It counts a lap when you go over the sensor, it doesn't know which way you are going, so it will count any time you cross in either direction or a mixture if you have made some digital drift cars....

ZITATActually if you load the latest firmware you can even do this.

Of course, it's already in my C7042. :)

But we love to make use of three lane layouts and XLCs, so that's not an option, at the moment (OK, one could build a track layout with XLCs for BOTH directions X-) - but how to race, then ...).

I guessed that it should be without problems, but before following a complete layout and so on and THEN running into problems ... better to ask, before, if you're a newbie and you have such competent forum friends to ask.

Thanks for the answers!
