I saw the Audis DTMs in action this weekend on "Motorsports Mundial". Does anyone know if there will be a slot version of this beastie in the future?

Will come from Carrera Evolution, but not before November.
..but they are quick - here are some teaser - pictures of the test-shots of the Rally-cars - DTM will be released after them - and the Ferrari 575s! (the pattern has been finished, the first testshots are expected within 2 weeks!)
Save your money guys - you'll need a lot for the next Carrera-releases!

The details are amazing! Compare the prints on the a-column and mirrors with any other brand and you know what I mean - they have reached top-level in detailling now! Let's hope, thet the chassis works well!
And FYI - Carrera will release a special set - art. No. 25555 - with transparent cars and flourescent bareers - and banked curve2!!!!...

Mrs Wankel and I are looking after our neighbours house this weekend and they just had a dish installed. Sweet.
Oh, look. There's a JGTC race this weekend. How fortuitous.

Hands up who thinks the 307 looks silly (the 1:1) and like it's tipping forward under braking all the time.

IMHO my carrera Dodge chargers don't drive strange at all. De-magged and with a bit of ballast they go very well, as does my Bentley.

If you guys know anything to do with this... I'll start buying many Carrera's because their choise of models is very good!!!

@ Gunther - be shure that you wont miss the 575 - they are competitive! Even teh new F1-cars are a close competitor for sclextric Sport F1! Lot's depend on the driver!
@ Mark - -the blue looks strange due to the camera - the real colour matches the original car. And don't ask about the alien in the background - -this is Slottus Longus - the designer from Carrera - and a real great guy!

I know Carrera's are not slow... the Enzo is a good mid-range on my track...but I don't like the way it goes around the track... I'd rather see a bit more braking on the cars... like any other slot car... instead of letting the car flow through the corners...
The Enzo is very nice to see and stuff... but I rarely put it on the track...

Hmmm. as the Enzo has the new 9:27 gearing, it should brake well. The only thing you could do is to remove the polarity switch and connect the cables directly to the motor.
And how do you use the magnets ? In my opinion, it's best to remove the additonal magnet below the rear axle and to move the VMS magnet into middle or maximum position.
There are also Ortmann tires available for the Enzo, to increase handling.

..the main problem of the Enzo is weight! Comper it to the Porsche Carrera GT or the Aston Martin - bot other cars are much quicker than the Enzo! But try the tips from chris - remove the polarity switch - and all teh other stuff in front of the motor and connect some silicone cables from the guide direct to the motor - then you've a completely different car!

FYI - latest news! Due to the late release of all necessary information from Audi, the DTM-A4 will appear beginning 2005 on the shelves. Sorry for these bad news, but the car is extreme complex with all the flaps and they tried to do it 100% correct.
About braking with Carrera-cars - measure the weight of the cars - most Carreras are around 110g! - add correspondend weight to Fly, Scalex and Ninco-cars - and you've the same brake-behaviour.

As Thomas says, the main reason is the weight.
The switch represents an electrical resistance. If you remove it, the car should brake and accelerate a little bit better.
But you should try out an Evo car with old 10:26 gearing, then you REALLY know how it feels if a car does not brake

And why don't they make their slot cars lighter?
The other brands can!!!
I'll try to make the Enzo quicker (read: break better) by making it lighter and removing the switch.

Personally, I much prefer heavier cars and I like Carreras, other than the gowdawful fit of axles in bushings, which is appalling.

I can't believe that the miniscule extra resistance from the switch is of any practical significance. If it is, then they must be the most awful switches ever manufactured! Perhaps this is true . . . But, again, I like the Carrera easy option to switch polarity with the flick of a finger.
