I got this lot when i bought a joblot of scalextric on ebay is it any use or should i scrap it i might keep the engines/motors is there any way of testing if they work.

I use a PP3 battery to test motors . I cut the terminal that pushes on the top off an old smoke alarm + the bits of wire . A quick touch of the wires to the motor terminals should show you the way

You can never have too many spares in your bit box(es).
