I'll be on the IOW next week too!

If anyone knows of a decent slot shop on the Island I would be very happy to hear about it.

Also are there any in Southampton as that is where I am sailing from. Does anyone know any there either?

Will be departing from Portsmouth, arriving with just enough time to check in and grab some lunch, bit of a trek to Bournemouth !

I take it there are no residents of the IOW frequenting the forum then

It's good to be wrong sometimes. We used to holiday IOW every year. Years ago I did find a small shop that used to sell a bit of "proper" slot car stuff but it's long gone now. That was back when if you found something imported from Spain that was Scalextric from Exin Lines you were very lucky. I don't think the internet was around even..... All change now. Get what you like, when you like, delivered to your door right from the comfort of your armchair. Or, with a smartphone, the privacy of the smallest room in the house! LOL.

Resurrecting an old thread I know but I've just popped into Toymaster shop in Ryde which had a selection of individual Scalextric cars, the rally Start twin pack and a decent array of tracked sets. I saw Start, Sports, Digital and even plenty of HO which was nice to see. And the Demolition Derby set so that was cool. Strangest item was a really old pack of 45 degree 9" Micro bends! Plus an optimistically priced Olympic cycling set.

I also clocked a sign above the trains that said 10% off of Hornby so if that includes Scalextric it could be useful.

Cheers

Gareth
