Keep looking on Ebay for the mid 1990s re-issue from SCX & maybe use that as a donor car Jaak?
Or BTS Mouldings sell headlights, orange indicators, rear light units, front & rear bumpers.

Hey Kev,

Again you to the rescue, much appreciated

I have a few others that i wan't to give a new lease of life but first this one and the 2 FJ's
Think that a SCX version would be to costly to use as donor plus i would wan't to fix up the SCX after that.

Cheers,
Jaak

Edit:

Jordi,

Thank you too very much.

Hey Kev,

That is very true,
i am trying to find out if they used the Jag wheels on other cars to see if i could maybe source them, at the moment not sure where to start.
Never seen a repro Jaguar for sale.

I will ask a list of BTS to see what they have and at what costs.

Found repro exhausts at Scalextric car restorations for the FJ,s

Hi Jaak.

If you are struggling with finding the Spanish wheels then you could go the "English" route.

For some reason when the UK version of the EType was assembled it was given the same wheels that were fitted on the Scalextric c20 Dart. The Dart is very cheap to buy & would give you another option for spares!

Hey Kev,

Thanks mate,
Nice picture, some sweet rides you have there.

The Spanish wheels look a lot better but i may have to go the English route,
Thanks for that tip

Would you happen to have a close up of the wheels on the green Jag?
i assume there the correct ones.

What do you do to make the plastic look so new on the cars you restore?

Hi Jaak.
That`s a photo I took last year for someone & the green Jag is packed away somewhere up the loft now!

I use Autoglym on my old cars, after they`ve had a bath in luke warm soapy water. Use a tiny ammount of Autoglym Colour Restorer on your Jag, then finish it off with Autoglym Super Resin Polish.

It doesn`t work as well on FJ & powersledge cars, but it certainly doesn`t harm them.

Cheers
Kev.

You can see the Autoglym effect on these two old Mercs.

LOL a whole herd of them

I have two Jouef's and i like them a lot.
Good quality plastic and well designed, only downer is the wheelbase on the two cars i have,
the wheels are very far in the body.

A white BMW and a Grey Porsche, secretly been watching the French E-Bay but no bargains to be found.
If you see one you like on E-Bay.Fr and they only ship to France then you could use my address as a shipping address if you like,
i could then send them to you.

Somehow many people who sell stuff there are afraid to offer international

Hi Jaak.
Yes, you are right. Most of the French Ebayers do only post to France, & they are hard to source in the UK.
However, this makes collecting them fun. I have about 140 Jouef cars now, which is a very good collection of these cars.

A lot of Jouef cars are becoming very expensive now.

There is a lovely man on Ebay (dauremy) who sells excellent replacement tyres for Jouef cars. He also manufactures tyres for many other slots. He ships internationally & his prices are very competitive!

Yes i have seen his tires they look good but i am not sure if they have good traction,
he also makes them for the FJ Scaleys i noticed.

I would prefer he sold them per 4 instead of 8 though.

Cheers,
Jaak
