Carrera Jaguar D-type.

25461, Jaguar D-Type, Green, no 14, 'Le Mans 1954 (single seat and fin).

25462, Jaguar D-type, Blue, no 518, Mille Miglia 1957 (double seat, no fin).

25709, Jaguar D-type, Red, no 170, SCCA 1960 (single seat, no fin).

There are other 'paintjobs' but these three represent differences in details other than colour / paintscheme only - might be worth while having a closer look and decide for yourself which suits your wishes.

Have a look at the Manufacturer website.

QUOTE (Rokkoko666 @ 8 Feb 2004, 05:21 PM)Hi Peter!

1955: http://store4.yimg.com/I/autofanatics1_1775_4891887
1956: http://store4.yimg.com/I/autofanatics1_1774_11432616
1957: http://store4.yimg.com/I/autofanatics1_1774_21641020

Is there any difference in the body between the cars from 1954 and 1955?

Maybe the Mille Miglia car can be repainted to the 1956 and 1957 models of Le Mans?

Regards // Richard

mmm, now I am not an expert but as far as I can tell from my visits at Goodwood I think that there were quite a few variations of the jaguar during this period. But they were generally speaking (to me anyway) all rather similar. Some differencies in lenght, but I could not tell you any specs.

When it comes to Carrera Jaguar bodies - they seem to mainly be the same body - except for the seating and fin arrangement. Now unfortunately for you Carrera seems to have missed out the variant that you would like most of all (two seats and fin). If you go for the Mille Miglia one (to rebuild) you might wish to make your own rear fin. On the other hand if you go for the Carrera Le Mans one and change it for a 1955 and forward you might wish to do something with the seat arrangement. Difficult to give advice to other people I think. Personally I did buy one of each and this worked for me (but I do like the Mille Miglia race as well). Mind you if there were several Jaguars running they might not all have looked exactly the same anyway. Some one else might have more information about this maybe.

good luck!
