Jouef released only very few E Types in this metallic grey colour. All were produced early on & not many remain now.
The body has a very dark grey base then the metallic grey effect has been put over the top.
It`s nowhere near chrome but I assume they used the same paint procedure?
A very pretty car indeed. The body really shows the wheels off!
Cheers,
Kev.

Actually, even living here, I took many years to realize that Jouef made Jaguars in anything but green, and Mercedes in anything but yellow!

ebay has flushed out a few of these odd colors but they're still scarce on the ground.

Still, I'm glad to have my green E-Type, found many years ago at a flea market during a weekend trip somewhere in the country, for a hefty 10 francs.... I probably wouldn't have bought it if it were gray...

Nice cheapy arrived today.
Another standard Ferrari F1 car.

This one is an early model from 1964/65. You can tell by the fact that the rear wheel dishes are smaller than later cars. These early cars also had gauze type braid attached to the pick up shoes.

Hi there Kev..

You are most welcome...

The Capri looks good on your circuit, especially after a bit of "spit and polish"...

Hope you and everyone else, had a good time at Pendle today (Saturday)..
It was great meeting yourself and everyone else from the north east clubs..

All the best.. Martin.

Lovely little car. Nice gift. Lucky boy, Kev. I think you should change your 'title' to Jouef Magnet to go along with your signature.

Glad to see you're still making use of those image posting lessons.

This is building into a great thread Kev, that Merc is a great addition, you don't see many models in any scale, static or not, of the roadster with hardtop anywhere so nice to see a slot version.

The whole collection is awesome, please keep us updated.

Here`s another Jouef I`ve managed to get hold of. It`s a " Deco Competition Ford GT40 ".
Jouef briefly made some of their cars with different decals & a race tuned motor. Only available on the continent, they didn`t sell well as they were 25% more expensive than standard Jouef cars.
Really does go well mind you!
Cheers,
Kev.

Next to a standard GT40.

This Etype I just received needed a new guide flag, pick up shoes & tyres.
I had to clean a load of carpet fluff out of the insides.
After a good polish she looks lovely.
Cheers,
Kev.

Very nice Kev! Is there a difference between the 3 & 7 E-types?

I do believe that red Merc must be a rare bird - wonder if it's even catalogued here?

The Jouef range is much broader than anybody imagined, especially Monsieur Jouef! (no, there was no such person, but I just invented him because it sounds good).

Monsieur Jouef sounds good to me Don!
No difference apart from the numbers on the Number 3 & 7 car. Both are UK Champion release versions.
The red Merc was all my Christmas & birthday pressies rolled into one! It really is a rare one.
Cheers,
Kev.
