Here`s my Jouef collection so far.
I`ve always had a mega soft spot for these little cars as my first two slot cars back in `68 were (Champion) Jouef.
Not too many cars to collect now then I`ll try & get rarer coloured examples.
I`ll post more pics as & when I add to the collection.
Cheers,
Kev.

And to prove that Jouef can go well, there a Jouef Matra Djet standing in 2nd place in the Folm Proxy in France, up against some much more modern cars!

Regards, Lloyd
The Jouef Matra is a great little car Lloyd.

That's a very fine collection, good to see them all lined up together.
Thanks Pace.
I`m currently waiting for a very hard to find type 2 Lotus to appear.
I`ll post a pic when it arrives.

Super slotcar builder Martin (Kustomart) very kindly gave me these three Jouef cars when I met him at the Northern Swapmeet on Sunday.
The tyres of the Ferrari F1 had melted onto the underpan. The pan was beyond saving so I simply changed it for a clean one. A new set of tyres were also added.
The BRM Martin gave me was in excellent condition. All it needed was a new pinion & a set of tyres.
The EType was a real horror story, but they are too good to bin. Again the tyres had melted onto the underpan & had blocked up the steering. It took ages to free the steering & clear away the rubber. The springs loaded pick-up shoes had to be changed, as did the motors carbon brushes. The motor was thoroughly cleaned & had a new magnet fitted. New tyres were added all round.
Unfortunately the screen was smashed, but I cut a one off a cheap diecast down to size & it looks great on the car.
The EType & both F1 cars now look & go great.
Thank-you Martin, it`s folk like you who make the hobby worthwhile!!
Cheers,
Kev.

Hi Martin.
It was also nice to see you . Wish I could have talked longer with you but we were on a time limit!
Can`t wait to see the transformation on models you bought.

What an lucky Jouef collector you are Kev

I'm myself looking hard for some cars I'm really missing (Mercedes & Jaguar for example) and although not particularly rare I can't find them at reasonable price (to my liking I mean, not yet ready to spend as much as a Slot.it or even a Racer for a Jouef !!!).

Vive Jouef

Been a couple of quiet months on the Jouef front.
I got several excellent bodies & chassis off Derek Cooper. They look new after the correct running gear was added.

Kev.

another really nice addition to your collection!
those cars look great!
I've just finished reading all 11 pages... What a fantastic collection and it's great that you give these beauties a second lease of life!

I'd just like to say what a fantastic collection. My interest in Jouef has just been rekindled by a recent trip to Spa in Belgium where I picked up a Rallye set (no 3030) at an autojumble. It contains a greeny Porsche 911s and a Ford Capri, this reminded me that in my loft I have a very old '60s Champion set and a stack of extra track and a fair number of cars that have'nt been touched in over 30 years. I bought the Jouef set in Belgium on a whim but now feel the time is right to have a rummage in the loft to find out what I still have. I remember that for years my parents had a mobile home in the South of France and every year i bought more track and cars . These memories have also rekindled my desire for a '60s Velo-Solex as we had one at the mobile home to get around the site. I must be getting old!!! Anyway thanks again for pictures of your great collection and maybe one day i'll post up what I find in the loft.

Cheers

Thank-you Roland, Colin & Peter.
Please get you old Champion set & cars out Colin, & post pics here!
Tyres are also readily available for your cars! I can put you in touch with the folk who sell them.

Type2 Matra F1.
Unusual because it is dark blue, & the colour of the base matches the body top.
