Just got into slot cars back in November 2004 and am spending more time (and money) than I ever thought I would. It started out as a 'toy' the kids and I would spread out on the floor and play. Now we have a 8' x 16' dedicated track area in the garage complete with a dry erase board to track our best times.

It has been a great winter activity for us. Besides racing, we've been painting model buildings and figures, building new track designs, and swapping tires and magnets.

After a few minor problems early, the SSD has been loads of fun. Our local hobby, Trains Etc. in Springfield, Virginia has been very helpful.

We are looking forward to the new digital cars coming out soon, some F1s and MiniCoopers!
