QUOTE (Pendleslot @ 12 Mar 2004, 10:17 PM)Mark, better get one quick. They're in extremely short supply at the moment. I believe a paint issue at the factory has meant a large number have been recalled resulting in short orders being supplied.
Recall for dodgy paint? I hope they don't put those bodyshells in the skip
I wonder if they would keep them as cheap spares for doing your own paint jobs? better still, send the entire car out cheap, so then I'd have to buy the Alitalia one and another for a repaint

Would that sort of thing work, Sean?
Or is it
stuff?

QUOTE (Pendleslot @ 12 Mar 2004, 10:54 PM)Hmmm. I wonder what the chances of a mud splattered effect paint finish alitalia will be.

Perhaps its a good job its not Fly or they'd charge another 50 quid

Do you know if they're going to bring out any other liveries for the Stratos so that they could recover those recalled bodies

Shame it's not SCX - they still only charge you £26 for a mud effect car don't they?

Now you mention it, yes it does look too stubby (the Stratos wasn't very long anyway
). However, I'm hoping that the stubbines is caused by the camera lens distorting the image on a close up (fish-eye effect?)

The Stratos looks just right to me. I'm glad I pre-ordered mine a few weeks back now and looking forward to racing it around "Mosshill Raceway". Fingers crossed that I should get one of the first batch. Just waiting now for the email from GS to confirm.

Anybody else who get's one, we could compare our test results next week.

It's a pity it didn't arrive a couple of days sooner, then I could have given it a good test over the weekend.

Mine arrived from Spain a couple of days ago. Very nice - quality is OK the usual from TeamSlot (not in the same league as Scaley), but who cares?

Haven't run it yet, still admiring the looks...

Tropi,

Thanks for posting those pics. Now I'd definitely swear that the model was taken with a wide angle lens. Look at the model's wheels - the front wheel looks as though the car is turning right. The rear wheel appears to be turning left. In fact you can almost trace a curve from the front of the car to the rear, very similar to the distortion created in a fish eye lens. I'll worry about how the model looks when I can see one in the flesh

It looks abit stubby.

Looks like the yellow hue is in place, seems to effect all white Team Slot cars.

On a more general note, funny how slotcar wheels other than silver or black look kinda toylike.

Looking forward to hearing some feedback on this one, questions such as are they still as noisy? is the build quality any better? is it tampo printed...

Cheers, Jamie

Look at the line along the top of the drivers side window comparing the model with the real thing -
It's bent!

Once again I think that it's the angle of dangle of the photo. The top of the side window appears bent towards the windscreen (red paint) because of the way it curves around to the front of the car.

I stand by what I've said before. Only when a model appears in someone's sweaty palms will we get a true opinion.

QUOTE I hope all of the wheels don't come out like they've been driven into large rocks.

That's all part of the realism factor!

It still looks a bit stubby, but Difflock is right... one in the hand is worth more than any number on a monitor.
