This is probably a long shot, but does anyone know of any slot-car clubs on the island of Kefalonia in the Greek Ionion islands ?

Sorry, there's only just 2 clubs in Greece,in Athens.Hopefully the 3rd one will be in Crete when Graham settles.Slot started moving in 2006 when the distributor of all major manufactures except Scalextric,creativehobby,organised the first ever race in Greece.

Hi guys

Not Cefalonia, but I spend some time in Cyprus (in Peyia) and have made contact with another slot fan out there, living in Limassol. Hoping to meet up and see what we can do. I know he has a home track and some friends who are slot fans - and I have some track out there too, planning on building it into a semi-permanent layout.

I went to Kefalonia last year and it is a beautiful place to relax. Great food, warm weather and great people. Try the Kefalonian Pie and Baklava.

It is beautyfull,my grand mother was born there,make sure to taste Robola wine,it's the local one,and visit Myrtos beach.Another fact that you might allready know,Captain Corelli's Mandolin movie was shot on location and it was a true story.

It's a holiday, sure you won't miss the slots for a week..?!

Been to the north of Kefalonia, stayed near Fiskardo, beautiful place and wonderful people.
Careful at Myrtos, the beach slopes very steeply into the sea and was quite rough the day we were there, absolutely scorching hot too.

Anyway, as this is SlotForum and not holiday watchdog I'll leave it at that.

Yes, I,ll manage without slots for a week !!
Seen the film,got the book,& its going to be Captain Roberts Mandolin cos I,m going with some other musician friends who go there each year & sing for their supper in a taverna, I,ve been roped in to play mandolin & harmonica in the ensemble ( I,m proficient on both instruments & have a handcrafted flatback mandolin made by a Devon luthier, David Oddy.)
My wife will try that wine, she likes wine !

Kefalonia was superb ( no matter how they chose to spell it)
great weather,nice people,terrific scenary,varied food.
I,d go again !
