Kit bashing (or sratch building) another Auto Unio

I'm just going through some things to put on eBay and found this kit, but having seen the results here I'm pretty loath to let it go to be honest!

Is there any way of getting this thing rolling without having to scratch a chassis? I don't think that the MRRC adjustable would fit inside the sloping rear deck, so any thoughts welcomed!

Also - how to build a Tazio? Do you get a 1/48 figure? He did look a bit lost in there...
