heres a slot car set made in argentina by L7 juguetes(industria argentina).the set was made in 1975-76.its battery powered,it has 2 modified chevys(the type they raced in argentina at that time).the bodies are a soft pliable plastic.the motor drives the rear wheels by rubber band.this is the only set like this i have ever seen.thanks,bernard

It seems to be made out of the cheapest possible materials!

Not to mention that these have got to be the only slot versions of those wonderful Argentine specials! Charles of Seattle found a book with great pictures of those cars a couple years ago - and maybe a small manufacturer did some vac-form bodies, but otherwise don't think we'll ever see any others!

Is that a bakelite chassis Bernard, or just colored plastic?

In any case, another wonderful find!

hi,its just colored plastic.i will post some pictures of the real cars late tonight.it was acheaply made set,but it wasnt cheap for me.

Here are a couple of pictures of an Industria Argentina car from my collection





I have a couple of vac form bodies of Argentinian cars, thought I can't guarantee there are not modern.
Here is one in 1/24th
