A total of five racers at Farnham yesterday, with Alec returning from his summer break, Jamie, Paul, Chris and me ready to pick up the cudgels.

Scalextric Porsche 911s - they're getting a bit long in the tooth but they're still good fun and very well matched, despite one with the later chassis.

Carrera Ferrari Enzos - apparently these are becoming collectable. The market for wobbly, brakeless and inscrutable tupperware is on the up!

SCX Citroen DS - yes, they wobble and, unlike Weebles, they can fall over. But they're cute.

Fly March 761s - Blue lane's handling deficiency with its front wheels akimbo caught everyone on the hop at a different corner.

Ninco Meganes - it seems that hooliganism is the most effective way to drive these. Chuck them at the corners in the certain knowledge that they won't get round and... oh! It got round!

Scalextric sidecars - fizzy, scratchy and completely bonkers... so the same as always, then

SCX Ford Escorts - we've now got one flyer on yellow lane, so the only thing to do is nerf it at the first corner or concede!

Fly Audi Quattros - these all went rather nicely. Even the one that sounds like a 1950s football rattle being waved by an over-excited Accrington Stanley fan.

Overall it was a close night's running with everyone bagging a few wins - with plenty of time for refreshment afterwards. Alec came out top of the points followed by me, Jamie and the tiebraking Chris and Paul.

Guys,

Could not make last night it due to Costco commitments BBQ at the weekend. Sounds like a good nights racing, although I am glad I missed the motorbikes pesky little criters, not my favourite racing medium.

Glad the Fly Audis where good. How was the Blue one as this was the one I had to carry out some minor repairs on? It was also cleaned and oiled so hopefully it was not the one that sounded like a 1950's football rattle. "COME ON YOU AUDIS!!!"

Own cars next week and the Jersey Wizard, Ben is back next week with some of his magic water so be preapred......

See you next week

I think that the rattler among the Quattros was the green one, Graham. Getting some decent pace off them now, though. I brought along my souped-up Ninco Pug to try out and didn't get a time in to match them!

Ben's magic water? Magic? Water? Does Dave keep that behind the bar with the 'special stuff?'

See you next week.
