Hi Kev ........
I guess you won't be bidding then or is it a double-bluff to stop others from bidding??

Ebay gum!
Soz about that.... first post and got stood in the naughty corner

Aaaanyway, maybe posting up the link was a bridge too far!
Hopefully wont cause any future problems, but we'll (ahem) cross that bridge when we do!!

I know it's not a minter Kev, much played with as a kid, but thankfully not painted as all my cars were.
I like to see it as showing the hard won patina of age.

Already got a couple Gregg.
Because of the fragile nature of those rubber bridges I don`t put them on my layout. They can quickly crack & warp badly. Mines bubble wrapped away in sealed plastic boxes for safety.
It`s not the worst I`ve seen by any means Skippy. I was just having a laugh.
You will still get good money for it. Rare item.
Cheers,
Kev

Aye Kev, me too, no problem mate..
I was amazed at how scarce they are.
I knew where mine was all these years.
In a cardboard box in the attic, which is probably whats saved it.
Still enjoy messing with the scalectrix now and again with my son.
But can't bear to see the old stuff getting more of the abuse it used to get as a regular occurance, though I must have been quite a careful kid with my toys as I still have so many of them in good condition.
So that's' why I decided to let a few things go as I'm not really a collecter as such, more a hoarder who's trying to reform!
Popped onto ebay to see if there might be anybody interested and how much it might fetch, as I thought if it's worth nowt I'll keep it, give it a scrub and use it.
Couldn't find one, at all....

I'll use the money from it to get a bit more track.
But am getting the interest in the vintage stuff fuelled mostly by this forum
Enjoy seeing peoples finds and collections... good stuff!
Cheers.

Hmmm 'check the rules please' says Jexy.

Now I know there are some rules on this on the swap shop forum (and have had to correct mods who've twice erroneously removed my links to Ebay sales), but where is OP to look for rules related to this subject in this forum? There's nothing about this in the many pinned threads in the 'about this BB' section, or in the pinned topics on this forum, and a search for Rules yields many pages of threads!

Perhaps the mods would do well to check their sources before getting snarky with newbs.

Yeah but, no but, yeah but ......... it's not an easy call being a Mod - a guy signs up and first post is a sales pitch.

We all took it in good humour and had a larf so no harm done.

QUOTE (scuderia_turini @ 18 Apr 2012, 23:13) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Its a long time since I registered but perhaps something about selling items should be in the welcome message (apologies if it is there already)

Kind regards, Leo

Ditto Leo .... I always lurk a little when I first join a forum to see how things are done

Certain rules are different for each forum I've joined, and some will alllow links to current Ebay auctions for general forum members.

A clear message about what selling format (Ebay or what ever) is allowed and what isn't allowed here would surely make things easier and clearer for new members.

Modding is not easy, I currently Mod on another site, so please see this as only a suggestion ... not a critisism.

No problem at all.
I can see it'd look a bit fishy, first post, ebay link.
However, it really wasn't meant that way.
As I said, I've lurked a fair while, so kind of feel part of the forum, just didn't have anything to say before!
Also I wanted to give true enthusiasts and serious collectors a heads up before it slipped past them.
Have dropped off a couple of other forums (unrelated subject matter) I used to be part of because of the rude modding.
But, generally I just think,...............yeah,.....whatever.
I'm happy.
I'll be back,...... or will I?
Cheers,
Lurkio.
