Get a new set of white pinions (cogs). Pull the old one off with pliers (IF you need them) and tap a new one on with a piece of tubing hit by a hammer (or something). You can get these pinions from loads of good website stockists (Pendleslotracing 10 quid for an handful, Slotcity, Getslotted, etc.) or try your local stores.
You can get the right tool from Pendle or whomever under Ninco spares if you don't want to faff about with tubing and a hammer, etc. but they cost about 8 quid. However, the white plastic pinion pulls off and can be tapped on quite easily.
