I got a Racer car for Chrimbo and that has started my slide down a very expensive and slippery slope of being extremely tempted by the high qulaity products from Racer, Le Mans Min, MMK, Dapretto etc. Thus my creadit card quivered when it saw this beaut.

QUOTE New Limited Edition Matra MS630 Le Mans 1968
from Le Mans Miniatures

This extremely limited edition Matra MS630 is modelled on the car that ran at Le Mans in 1968. Originally driven by Henri Pescarolo & Johnny Servoz-Gavin, this beautiful car exited the race spectacularly when a puncture led to an accident in the 22nd hour at lap 283. This is a beautiful looking Le Mans racer and a significant part of the Matra heritage.

The car comes with a standing driver (which many of you requested) and additional decals.
I have not purchased a LMM before - what are peoples experiences?

I love my GT40 MKIV !

A few small issues such as little ground clearance between tyre and crown gear but as I am not racing this car, just driving it frequently, this is not such an issue.

That car is a must have for me too, but have to let my card recover a little from the purchases surrounding that MMK Porsche for Charity car

My Ford Mk IV is certainly a great model, but I couldn't classify it as a slot car. The wheels and tyres were hopeless, the plastic gears terrible, and there's no driver!
I found I had to replace all the crucial running gear (motor aside) to get it to go half decently, turn down the kit wheels to use as inserts and squeeze in a Maxi-Models driver. Lot of extra expense and work to make an already expensive kit right. But I hear you can buy just the shell and put your own stuff in, which would have been a good way to go had I known.
Gorgeous model otherwise! I deduce a high quality manufacturer of statics having a toe-in-the-water stab at a slot car. I hope they get the hang of things soon...

No driver!? GS state this one comes with a standing driver (I presume like the fly car driver series) - I suppose as this will predominantly grace display cabinets then this and its running gear is less of an issue. However at the price you'd expect it would run half decent out of the box. The Racer cars took the bright step of collaborating with Slot-It for their running gear - a very smart move as they look great and run very smooth.

The LMM mantra does look rather tasty though.

I also bought the Ford body kit which was inexpensive, the quality of the body moulding and detailing is excellent, from what I saw of the Matra kit at the same swapmeet it was of a comparable standard to the Ford.
