Pit building. I’m not so happy with it so it’s days May be numbered. I’ll revisit it down the track.

This layout also doubles as a rather fast slot car track. One thing to consider when positioning fragile scenery is whether a car is likely to find its way through said scenery, and if it does will it make a good photo?

Storage. At this point if I never use a router or mdf again that’s fine with me.

Tron called… LED strip from the hardware store, 16 colours to chose from as 15 wasn’t enough.

Wire trees of the Gum variety. Decent size trees for 1/32 are essentially non existent, these cost me under $10 each which is good, and take a few hours per tree to complete which is less good.

Even the dead trees take ages to build.

Finally the windmill. Scratch built using my imagination, styrene, brass, steel, aluminium, rubber, slot car gears and even a carbon fibre shaft. I also built a gearbox so it runs at a reasonable pace at 4.5v, independent of the track power supply. This is another piece salvaged from the old track, it used to be connected to a small solar cell, thus it would randomly start running when the sun came out.

That brings it up to date. Still a tonne to do but that’s ok, it’s part of the fun
