Thanks for showing us that, Terry!

I'm trying to work out in my head how long it is since we were first made aware that this livery was on it's way. Probably 8 or 9 years!

QUOTE (John Schoen @ 7 Dec 2004, 19:55)Does it come with the standard Mabuchi or the Racing motor?

Its the standard motor John, however I've always found the Venturi a quick little car never the less.

The A15 appeared in the very first Fly catalog back in 1997 however it never made it to production because its complex livery could not be reproduced to Fly's standards back then.

As regarding the ones on Ebay last year, yes they were fakes I'm affraid.

Man they started some HUGE arguments and angry spamming on SCI when they were up for auction. I got some serious nasty emails after daring to suggest fools were easily parted with their money, we WERE talking middle to high 3 figures (Sterling for these)

Those that bought them, for hundreds of pounds each, stated the were openly fakes and actually were seen by serious collectors who HAD to have every car issued or announced by Fly, as not fakes but skilfully made versions by one particular person to order.

Taking this as read from those that did buy them, I also saw one in Pendles last year, how are they feeling now that the real one has arrived?

I did a similar thing with the airbrushed open bodywork effect Ninco Mercedes CLK GTR released by Ninco last year (not to the same monetary expense mind you - thank God) and had bought an 'Axis' made version that sported Pattos Place decals. The version I bought WAS worth abit until the real release and I have since seen one or two of the 'Axis' ones go on ebay for a pittance.

As for the Venturi, well the tampowork is awesome looking in detail and complexity and is a great testament to the improvement in prodution techniques over the last 7 or 8 years. But IMO it remains one of the ugliest liveries ever produced on a race car.
However those Venturis ARE a very overlooked car that runs well and fast with little tuning, it is also one of the few releases where each version 400,500, 600, 600LM etc DID appear with the version differences built into the model.
There are still a fair few around in shops and at odd times on Ebay and they are well worth a look at.
