I like things to be "right" and orderly. I suppose it could be bordering on OCD.

So, when my collection of rally cars got to 5 cars with the number 1 I had to do something about it. All the other cars in the collection have different numbers, so the 5 1s ware just wrong.

First of all, I partially got around it by catagorising the cars:- Up to 1980, 1981-9, 1990-9, 2000-9. Simples! That left me with 2 catagories with 2x number one. By this point I'm a bit happier. So then I spent quite a while on the 'net doing some research. I came up with these..........

The very same car that SCX produce as the Manx Rally-winning Sierra was also driven to 3rd on the RAC the same year by the same crew.
Cue downloading of Lombard RAC images, resizing, and printing with numbers on sticky labels.

Similar situation with the SCX Tein Corolla. Same car, same year, same crew, different rally, different number..........

OK, so it is bodgery of the highest order;- bits of sticky paper with inkjetted JPEGs and the closest font for the numbers I could find on my version of MSWord. But it's unlikely anyone other than me will ever see the cars, and they suit my purpose. Yes, I know they're both number 18, but they're in different catagories.

The excercise did leave me with one question......... Why did SCX choose the Manx livery for the Jimmy McRae Sierra rather than the RAC one?? I haven't yet seen any other slot car in Manx livery..... Has anyone? I'd be interested.

It's yet another of SCX's number 1s.

I like that Escos ^^^^^. I think I'll have to get one and re-number it to 8, from the 1993 RAC.
Thanks for posting that.

What is it with SCX and number 1s??

If you google around a bit you can stumble upon lots of sites with fonts to download for free. It's just a huge queste to find the right type of font. Find the right font and download it to your Windows/Fonts files. Then you can use it in MS Word and other programs. It should appear in the fontslist of the program.

As I said, different catagories.......
Up to 1980 - currently 1, 4, 16, 20
1981-9 - currently 1, 5, 18
1990-9 - currently 1, 2, 3, 18, 24
2000-9 - currently 10

And thanks Dagobert II for that info. I'll bear it in mind.
