Apologies to David for the fire extinguisher.... maybe one day I'll take it off

You really don't know just how much that fire extinguisher offends my eye, if I see the car at Rockingham or Gaydon I will take my Tamiya plastic cutters to it and snip it off.

I also think that you have painted Clark's crash helmet black, another unforgivable error, I will bring along a tin of Humbrol dark blue and correct that as well.

Andi's superb 33 above puts me in mind of the equally beautiful Lotus 48 of 1968.

Is there a case for arguing, therefore, that we slotters have neglected Formula 2 for too long?

There are many wonderful F2s, from both the pre and post wing eras; a pity to eschew 'em, eh?
I've often thought of carving Formula Ford, F3 and F2 bodies but I think these cars are a bit too niche for a manufacturer to produce.

David

Pre-Wing have produced a Tecno F2 car from 1971 - below is one I built for the Policar GP in May. I've also made a March 722 (body carved and then cast in resin) for a friend - also shown below. Both use Policar running gear. However, like David, I doubt any 'volume' manufacturer would consider producing a range of F2 cars let alone F3; they're too specialise and quite difficult to squeeze even FF050 motors into to be of interest to a lot of slot car racers.

Regards

David
