Here's a penelope pitlane Lotus 72 I've started, hope to have it up and running next week...

here it is in grey primer with some rear suspension bits added stolen from and old scaley Ferrari...

holes have been drilled in it to add hoses to give the area a bit more interest, the hoses are motor wire...

also added some leads that are motor wire strands and when painted look OK...

doesn't look too bad now and should look nice once its all together. The close up photo's show all the bits and bobs that look a bit rough but to the naked eye it all looks quite neat especially with the air box on.

Here it is with decals, just driver figure and mounting to chassis to do...

.. glue is still drying on the screen but that will dry clear.

That is the best 72 I have seen. Great job.

Many thanks for the nice replies. Here it is finished (apart from mirrors which I forgot to put on before I took these!), I hope it gives some inspiration if you're looking to do a 72'....

Emerson needs a few more coats of Klear on his hand painted helmet and tyres need trueing. Wheels on the front are PP replacement alloy Scaley F1's and the rears are my own alloys made to fit the F1 Airfix tyres.
