I run my cars on a Scalextric sport 94FT track and have a high number of them with a Sideways HC 02 Zakspeed Ford Capri flimsy body! and Slot It Nissan Skyline- GTR-32
3 Carrera cars, all 6 colors of the Policar Subaru's cheap little ones almost? indestructible and cheap $39 Aus: Great little cars, not great handlers limited with speed ability
but ideal for the Grand kids and great grand kids. Pioneer Notch Back Mustang this one with original tyres, a Slot It Nissan Skyline-GTR-32
All cars tuned and MJK Urethane tyres trued, except for Pioneer and ad Slot It 0riginal tyres. All tyres trued all cars trued. Preferred running! Love Scalextric! ;)

Another bog standard Scalextric Mini, except for 'urethanes all round. Yes, it has a tendency to tip over, to which there are two solutions. A different chassis can be fitted, or the cheaper version is to slow down.

There isn't much wrong with this Alfa, either.

While it's true that many love to deride Scalextric, I always found their cars perfectly adequate.

The "purist" club racers should accept that Scalextric models are not necessarily aimed at the hard-core racer, but at the casual "rug-racer" who appreciates a decent model...

like that Alfa!!!!:giggle::love:

OK, they haven't always made finely detailed models; the Mini being a case in point.

But back in the day, who did make detailed and accurate slot cars? 🤔

Ferrari, Porsche and Lambo. A fair representation of all three in my view.

I'm actually looking forward to getting one of the newer Countachs. They look just marvelous. It'll go nicely with my 7' foot poster from 1972. Yep, I still got it.

I like the old Scalextric Mini, even with the Cortina Mk2 front end that Leyland tried out on the Clubman! I think the body is pretty accurate even if the chassis is woeful.
I bought this one in a set, in 1977 and it’s been in more-or-less continuous service ever since. I lowered the front end back in the day to make it corner properly.
I just put it on my home track and it’s still fun to drive with surprisingly good handling, if not the fastest thing around.

I remember a tv episode in which captain Slow was discussing his childhood slotcar - it was the Mini 😊
Exotica from more than 30 years ago. I don't need to remember that the XJ220 and F40 were produced a whole generation ago.

Gold and silver Porsches came in the Le Mans set or could be bought individually. They were introduced no fewer than 41 years ago!

I have a number of the Scalextric Porsche 962 Shell and other liveries posted in your Porsche thread previously Laurence, so I won't duplicate those here.

I love the fact that they tried to simulate reality as the back can be removed...

Thanks for showing us!

I think it was this one that got delayed in launch until they had made it a real competitor to the new kid on the block: Fly.

Fabulous pics of the Cadillac, Martin. Most authentically Le Mans. And another great model from Scalextric. Many thanks.

Part deux Laurence, or it should be part one as per your picture above.

The Merc' appeared lonely so I added some company.......

I really like these older Scalectric cars.
Simple, fun, look the part with working head and brake lights, and go well enough for my home running.
