Hi MAGIC, I have the following issue:
  • Platform: Windows
  • Version: 1.7.3.0
  • Device: HP Pavilion x360 convertible (touchscreen) running Windows 10 Home version 21H2 Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0
  • Powerbase: PRO
  • Description of the issue:
    • Racing with MAGIC ARC, Yellow Flag can ONLY be activated by touching the screen of notebook, and I can't find how to change this setup to either "automatically activate Yellow Flag when there is a de-rail" or "activate Yellow Flag when someone press Lane Changer+Brake buttons at the same time on the controller ".
  • How to reproduce:
    • This happens every time in every race when Yellow Flag is ON
Regards

I am also running Magic app on windows . No problems.

first....... have you tried re installing the App. Maybe it didnt install properly?
2nd..... Is it just the "yellow Flag Method " that is missing. Are all the other features available / working. Tyres. Fuel, Kers, Weather??
3rd..... there is a small switch on side of Arc Pro Power base that is used to change from Digital to Analogue. Is it set to Digital ??( its not labelled) mine has the switch pushed away from the track for digital

Gmac118,
1st - I'm not at the track right now so on weekend I'll try to reinstall.
2nd - Yes, it's only the YF Method that's missing, fuel, tyres and weather working OK
3rd - I'll check too, but I'm pretty sure that the switch is on Digital mode
thanks

Arc Pro Analog - will car magnets damage anything ?
Will magnets beneath the car hurt the PowerBase in any way ? For example... placing a analog car on the track while the PowerBase is in digital mode. Or leaving an analog car on the track and then switching the PowerBase to digital. I use MagicArc.

Platform: Windows 10
Version: 1.7.3.0 (joeypm) 'browser version'
Model: Scalextric ARC PRO
Hardware 1.0.1
Firmware 2.6
Software 2.6

Depends on if you mean the magnets are inside the car or on the actual bottom underneath the car.. If the magnet is inside the car and can't touch the rails then all will be fine but if the magnet can touch the rails then yes you can cause a short in the system but the arcpro should go into safe mode so you will be ok there but try not let any metal pieces touch both rails at the same time especially in digital where there is constant power going through the rails and for when switching from analogue to digital and leaving the analogue car on the track the car will only buzz no issues just lift it off and if you have a digital chipped car on the track in analogue mode then the car won't have any brakes that's all but no harm will be done hope this helps. When using the Magic App with an ARC Pro powerbase, but switched to analog mode, should the Magic App identify that it is connected to an ARC AIR? As in, should the logo at the top of the screen change etc?

I'm asking because my setup seems to behave like it thinks it is in digital mode even though I'm in analog mode. I'm having multiple problems. I'm trying to set up a simple two car analog race with no simulations at all (Fuel, tires, etc). My goal is to have no pit stops. No matter what settings I select, I can not achieve this. To add insult to injury, once the app calls for a car to come into the pits, nothing seems to work to actually tell the app the car has pitted. It's like it is looking for it to enter the pit lane, however, obviously I can not do that in the analog mode.

I've ended up reverting to the Scalextric App, because I can get it to run a simple analog race if I put it in Grand Prix mode and turn everything off. However, there are other things about it I don't care for (and it tends to be a little crashy.
I fired up the Arc pro for the first time in a long time. Everything went ok with a couple digital runs but, found the same problem you mentioned with analog. The app was still showing and working as ARC pro, wanting me to set IDs. I do remember last time i had used it, the base was recognized by the app as ARC air when i flipped the switch.
I gave up this time after cycling power and relaunching the app, couldnt get it to display as ARC air.

Another inconsistency I struggle with is the behaviour at the end of a race. I'm running the Magic app on a Windows 11 laptop. For "end of race" there are three choices, Everybody, Immediate, and Standard. I believe in all 3 modes, once the race finish is triggered the cars go to their calibrated speeds. I'd rather they immediately stop, so that if I wanted to manually record the fractional amounts of track that were covered by each car I could. This is a pretty typical practice in analog racing.

@Cdub, I think the only way to do that is:
1- Race menu: Choose on "end o race" Inmediate
2- General menu: Choose on "Car engine at end of race" Manual
3- General menu: Car power in menu (Off)

I have never tested this combination until now and all the cars stop once the first finish the race but I realized that remains an annoying buzz from the motors and doesn't dissapear until you click on "Exit the race"

Hey everyone

So back into slot racing with the boy who has got into it in quite a big way.

We purchased the ARC PRO and after trying the scalextric app switched to the Magic App to try (donation incoming).

It's brilliant but we have one issue.

Following the end of a race, controllers are put down no input by user....Car ramps up to warp speed 6.7 and tries to enter orbit...lol

Latest version on Andriod
Scalextric ARC Pro

Any ideas

  • Description of the issue:
    • Same thing happens to me on my iPad as BigBadPopperDom . Cars are supposed to continue slowly based on my settings, but they instead go full speed across the room. The same happens with yellow flag as well. I calibrated the slow speed to something very slow for both cars, but they go full throttle at end of race and yellow flag. Kind of prevents me from using the app, which is a shame since it seems pretty cool otherwise. I did a test on my iPhone and it works as expected, which actually surprised me. Looks like this bug only happens on iPad. I tested multiple times and am fairly sure I set things up the same on both dvices.
  • How to reproduce:
    • This happens every time in every race when Yellow Flag is ON and when race ends on iPad. Works correctly on my iPhone.

    • When device is set to dark mode the list of cars and drivers does not display the move up / down and trash icons. They are there as tapping the area of the screen has the desired effect, but you can't see the icons as they are black on a black background.
  • How to reproduce:
    • This happens when showing the list of cars / drivers just before the race starts.

Quick update. I compared some settings between the iPad and iPhone. Turns out on the iPad I had a non-standard driver profile. The iPhone had standard 50% driver profile. I tested this on the iPad and it worked like it did on the iPhone. The car travelled at the calibrated speed during hello flags and at the end of the race. Still feels like a bug maybe, but perhaps not? The profile I had didn’t seem that extreme and frankly I don’t fully grasp what the curves mean anyway. Think I’m good with linear, but maybe there is an advantage to some of the others?

Have you calibrated the cars? If so, what speed did you set them to?
Yes they are calibrated. I think around 15%. I got it working by using standard / Linear profile. Seems to be doing the right thing now. The other profile I had tried was honestly pretty linear. Didn’t seem that steep of a curve. How does it work? Does it apply whatever the speed is at the x axis point matching the calibrated speed? I’ll do another test I guess. In other words read the y value of the controller profile going to the point on the x axis that corresponds to the calibrated point?

Just did a quick test. If I do standard 55% the bug happens. During a yellow flag the car goes max speed across my basement. Standard 50 works fine as did Standard 40. Not sure what the curves mean, honestly. I tried recalibrating after changing the throttle profile and it didn’t matter. Feels like a bug.

It sure sounds like a bug with the throttle profiles and how they interact with the speed at race end. I just wanted to make sure that calibration was included. It looks like you provided enough information to replicate it, so hopefully someone has time to do that and corroborate your findings. If you look back through the thread, you can probably find where Magic told someone to send him their logs/database. It's probably worth doing that.
