Hi Magic,

Recently my covid band of 4 have begun to explore using pitstops for fuel and tires. I noticed when we use the Yellow Flag (lane change+brake) to stop all racers until the yellow flag is cleared by the person who invoked it, and if someone is in the pits (to refuel) at the same time the yellow flag is active the pit stop does not progress. I'd like to see this option continue to do the fueling and/or tire changes while the the yellow flag has all of the cars stopped. This would be more like in 1:1 scale racing where a yellow flag call after a driver is already in the pits turns into good luck for that driver. Can you implement such a thing in MUAA (Magic, Unofficial Arc App)?

Thanks again for all you do for this hobby!

Hi, Magic! Absolutely love your app.

I was wondering if you have considered creating a Magic ARC PRO app for the pc that supports the different hardware for Pit and timing management that is out there? It could be a premium app, for enthusiasts who would like the ARC Pro to be able to deliver a similar experience to what the C7042 can provide.

Using RikoRocket's PitPro with the ARC PRO would be brilliant, for instance.

Hi Magic.

I have a request to see if you can save all the race stats as the race is occurring. The idea would be to copy the stats, and race position to another set of variables that get save to disk in the event there is a short circuit or problem where the powerbase looses communication with your app. Then if the app could be totally unloaded/close in Windows or restarted on a mobile device there could be a resume previous race from it's fault position. This would allow a way to recovery and continue a race that is interupted by the Arc Pro going into circuit protection mode. So basically if the powerbase goes into circuit protection mode have a way to stop and restart the app and have it read back in the status of the race that was interrupted.

This would really help where there is an endurance race that is being run for a few hours.

While I'm at it I'd like to ask if you could change the maximum time a race can be run to something like 25hours. This would allow a true 24hour of Magic LeMans. :)

Hi Magic

It´s been a while since your last reply, hope you are well. Has development been paused or stopped ? if so, could you please send out a short information.

I will however try with yet another request..

General power adjustment....On other systems people use a adjustable powersupply to handle the overall racespeed.

Is it possible to have same software solution to general set the power for all cars in a race. (I know that cars can be adjusted individually) It would be great with an similar overall setting that could adjust track power.

"Dynamic" or trigger brake option, on/off, please. I think this should be a driver-specific setting as opposed to a car setting or general setting of some kind. The brake button should still activate braking, but releasing the trigger should optionally activate brakes, or allow the car to coast.

Many drivers prefer to race with coasting instead of brakes when they release the trigger, especially for cars with strong traction magnets, which stop on a dime with full brakes, but can coast through turns nicely.

I was so used to this being part of the system, that I was surprised to find that it's missing from your app. To be fair, it's missing from the Scalextric app as well, so I'm hopeful that this CAN be an option, and that it's not hard-coded into the base to activate brakes when throttle returns to zero. That would suck royal donkey d....

Hi magic
Would it be possible to have a Tuning screen where the Cars Max Power and Drivers Max Power and Throttle Profiles could be altered live
As it is now to change parameters to find best setting I have to go back and forwards through the setting screens and race screens
Think it would be handy to change settings live to find optimal settings and then use those values on the race screen
Anyone else have some thoughts on this ?

Hi Magic! Thanks for your app, my kids and I use it almost daily when we have the track out!

I've noticed in your manual and others mentioning it in this thread that there is supposed to be a Yellow Flag Method option present in the app, but for the life of me I can't find where it is. I've looked in both General Configuration and within the individual Race Options setup. I see a bunch of other yellow flag options (on/off, type, penalty, penalty time) but not "method", meaning how to activate the yellow flag from the controller buttons. We are able to start a yellow flag by pressing on the phone screen or the PC space bar, but having it on each users controller would be great.
Can you please set me straight if I'm just missing it?
I'm using version 1.5.9 on both PC and on IOS. I've also tried it on my wife's newer iPhone 12, and can't find it there either.

Thanks

Kewdok-
I know you are seeking something more than what the Magic Arc App does today for pit options, but I just wanted to make sure you knew the Magic Arc App is indeed available for your PC through the microsoft store. You just need to make sure your PC is bluetooth compatible. I used to run Magic Arc off of a laptop with video output to a large TV. However, I purchased a new PC early this year and made sure it had full Bluetooth compatibility. It works perfectly.

@CrisH Thanks, mate! I am aware that it is in the app store and I have it installed. I am interested in using some of the "legacy" hardware mods that have been made compatible with RCS64 as well as SSDC through the years. These are not compatible with Magic ARC last time I checked. :)

Damage repair time. If my car crashes and I call a yellow flag does this then add extra time to my pit stop or cause me to have to pit say after causing 2 yellow flags? If I add repair time it does not seem to make any difference. Would be nice if crash yellow flags caused the person to have to pit for repairs after a set amount of yellow flags.
Firstly, what a stunning App this is. Hopefully Magic will continue with the updates. Linking yellow flags to damage and pitstop repairs is exactly what I would also like to see. I think there should be penalties for yellows but prefer them to be during the race rather than time added at the end. Forcing you into the pits for too many yellows would capture this perfectly.

Hello Magic, a dark mode would be nice. When racing with a small number of drivers a large portion of the screen is bright white, which can be a bit distracting during a night race because it illuminates everything around it.

Good point! I think is has to be supported by the app as well though. I can only test on iOS and switching to dark mode doesn't make a difference. While I was at it I also tested inverting the colours in the Accessibility settings of iOS. This did indeed change the white background to black, but the other colours became quite psychedelic, so not really a solution unfortunately.

KIDS MODE REQUEST

I don’t think either of these apps have a kids mode

We pair up the app on an iPad to your scalextric ARC pro base, and we would like the app to show a pop up screen asking if we want to go to “Kids Mode”. There is an “ok” button dialog on the pop up.

kids mode puts throttle limiters on all the cars running. It doesn’t require any set up of drivers. It doesn’t really matter which controller is controlling which car

it might show the color of the ribbon attached to the controllers, and that’s about all the kids need to know.

if the kids decide they want to change cars, that’s OK too. The throttle is limited to that transmitter.

stretch goal would be to individually be able to select a percentage for the throttle limiter for all controllers at once or even for an individual controller colour.

Having a selection of unique sounds that can be assigned to each Car and/or Driver would be excellent. When you're in a race with a group and you all cross the line in quick succession, it's nice to be able to listen for your own sound to make sure your lap counted. Some people like different bell and beep sounds, and some people like different "drive by" engine noises. There's a lot out there, so even being able to select a .wav or .mp3 file from device storage would be cool. It's also quite common to have a different sound for fast lap, or even fast lap for a specific car. Since we are rarely able to take our eyes off the car as we are driving, being able to hear confirmations like that can be helpful.

I hope that you consider something like that.
Hey Magic,

Just wondering on a update on if this option will be added to the app???
Hello Magic,

I hope everything is going okay with you and your family. Just checking to see if this update has been added to your App?

Very similar for me

During yellow flag i like to have other racers all moving at the calibrated speed ( similar to real life racing under yellow ) however ..... any cars in the pits start to move when yellow flag is started. they stop pitting and drive off at calibrated speed.

Maybe while the refuel button is activated this will over ride the yellow flag for that car. We can stay in pits and keep refueling.

Great app. I use it all the time. Other minor tweaks would be great , but the yellow flag issue really affects the quality of racing. It basically means i cant have fuel stops and yellow flag in the same race

A feature request that has been mentioned before and hoping it can be implemented 🙏

Would love to see Arduino support that would connect to a wireless module that would trigger start/yellow flag/race end scenarios 👍🏼

I've previously had start light arrays manufactured that were designed to run off Arduino boards when used with the older C7042 power base and the associated RMS.

I've passed access to the files for the start light arrays to another company that produces trackside extras (slottrackscenics) and they are hoping to be able to get access to Arduino from your APP before committing to manufacture in the volume needed to make a batch viable financially.

Thanks ..😉
