Love them or hate them, the new classes made for some good and close racing - and I am not just saying that because I had my best night ever, clocking 110 points and beating Mr T in the process.

We also had the pleasure of a new member, Keith from Drayton know as New Keith to differentiate from OLD Keith. New K has his own 4 lane track and a real live Escort RS2000 Mk1. Welcome New Keith.

While everyone was enjoying the excellent racing, some of it very close and lots of 6 car finishes, I was having a pretty good night. The new classes were well supplied buy the Bolwextric Class cars with only the 70's F1 being a bit variable. Being an experienced Bolwextric Party animal three classes had competitive stock available off the shelf, and I had experience with them: For the SCX Touring I chose a BMW, leaving my favorite Honda Accord for the Open Saloons - I had no wins but only a single "1" all evening (IF only eh - Tony).

By the end of the evening it was an easyish win for Dave, then Jim with Keith some way behind. Roll on Jan 31st. Everyone finished happy - so no real losers.

Results are on-line and include a correction to Jes's points in the previous round.

Will.

Just to say the results for R8 are finally on line.

A most enjoyable evening let down by some bad news - the return to form of Mr T. Only the 70s' F1s let him down, otherwise it was 36s' all the way to 173 points. With Dave away and Jim having an "off" night Keith's 138 got him runner up honours.

In the Clubman zone Keith was away with the fairies while the rest of us battled it out, with not much between Robin, Wez and myself it could have gone 3 ways for second place, I made a slip up by using an Accord in the SCX Touring which meant I could not use my favourite Black Accord in the Open Saloons. I snatched a Volvo off the shelf which I struggled to get to terms with it but still managed to hang on to second place. After a slow start PJ managed to avoid last place as new boy Matt wrestled with his brand new out of the box BMW saloon.

A most enjoyable evening further enhanced by a lorry load of cakes brought by Matt to celebrate his birthday.

QUOTE (Mr.M @ 20 Feb 2011, 12:34) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Looking at the SlotForum birthday list for today, it would appear you might have another opportunity tomorrow night!

So Will, did your Dad only get leave from WW2 in the two middle weeks of May?

As per Cake possibilities - It's a zero from me as I am away, sorry about that.

Dad and WW2:
Jim I think your maths is wrong. I was born in 1953 the war was long gone, and bananas came back on the menu. Though you made me check my profile dates

Have a good evening - see you on Thursday. Will.

Hi All
the Winter Series ended last night, as most of us were still high from the endurance event - the racing was pretty fast, the track started with excellent grip but some usual club night waywardness soon had things back to normal.

Tony got off to a good start in the SCX Touring class, but it was his only "36" of the night and he finished level with Dave on 143, but that was enough for him to win the night and the series.

My night was all about sticking one on Wez as we battled nip n tuck all evening. Level for most of the evening I had a 2 point lead going into the final Open Saloon class, Wez punched me off in to last two races but some steady work from one of the Bolwextric Accords had already sewn it up for me. While were being silly PJ sneaked in and took places from both of us - blow it!

Well done to the Championship Winners: Tony, Jim and Keith. Clubmans: Keith, Dave and guess who?

Full results are on the web site with the Archive page getting yet another dollop of sadness where we are now also recording the MFR series picks for posterity.

Looking forward to the next series - us Clubman babies will be saying goodbye to Keith, while I will be worrying about improved racing from PJ, Wez and Robin meaning this might be my last 3rd place for a while.

New Classes for the first five rounds are:
• Ninco Rally NC1
• Indy Car (Any make)
• Hornby GT (All except IMSA Jags)
• Ninco Vintage
• Open OPEN

Round 1 in on the 28th Feb.

QUOTE (Keef921 @ 15 Mar 2011, 11:38) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hi Will

Quick work updating the results as usual, not sure if you are losing me from the clubmans yet as I think I have only won the series once, and in reality I only won this one as Mr Lord missed a few nights. The next series could prove interesting with PJ, Wes and yourself all getting a lot quicker - you seem to have silenced those ambulance sirens.
Ah ha the old sirens, truth is I miss em, I think I am going to slow down a bit and start collecting the points again - just like the good ole days. And that way Keith - PJ and Wez will concentrate their fire power on you, HE HE.

And most entertaining classes they proved to be. Even though I found them a most confusing set of cars from the identification point if view, picking out the correct cars from the Bolwextric stock proved a challenge, the double US classes of Carrera Muscle and Nascar was TOO MUCH. Also a Merc DTM does not look like a saloon to me.

In the Carrera Muscle Keith's 33 shot him into the lead and despite a disastrous 14 in the SCX GTs held on to win the night and hang on to his championship lead - well done Keith. I was thrown into the dungeon with a miserly 11 a poor show even by my standards.

Dave had 4 wins in the Hornby F1 while Jim started a lean spell with just 19 in this and the next class, Nascar. These saw Adrian get into his stride with a win and a couple of seconds, Keith's yellow old fashioned shiny thing seemed to go quicker than looked possible (or was that just some well smooth driving?). Down in the gutter some ambulance mode action saw me leapfrog PJ who had a disastrous 8. while Wez seemed to be well clear of us.

Jim started the SCX GT class badly with a 1, but then bounced back with 5 wins, both Adrian and Dave beat Keith which made the top order very close, I started off with a lucky win when I ended up running against just PJ, with a few laps to go I decided to keep it smooth and steady and see what happened, suddenly I just glided by him and after a short while PJ fell off to leave me victorious - Harraaaaa!. More luck saw me draw level with Wez.

So the open saloons started with the final result wide open for all. Dave couldn't decide which car to use and this probably cost him the night, good work by Adrian couldn't stop Keith winning while Jim's misery continued with three last places for a class 11, yes folks Jim finished a class on ELEVEN. In the lower part of the sheet Wez had nabbed the favourite Blue Accord so I decided to forsake the Accords for a DTM Merk. In my second race I stupidly threw away a win when just Adrian and I where left running I was a couple of corners behind him but not likely to catch up, out of the corner of my eye I noticed Adrian had come off on the last corner and in my excitement came off myself. All the way Wez and I were nip n tuck and when we got in a straight fight I seemed to have the legs on him. But in the end it was the Accord's ability to blast through obstructions that enabled Wez to stay level on marks and beat me on a 3 level count back. Well done Wez - I now have some unfinished business with you...

A superb if rather sparsely populated evening's racing, great fun. - Will.

Manor Farm Racing results latest
If you suspect you may not be seeing the latest on line content try refreshing the view of your browser: The simplest way to do this on a PC is to press the F5 key. The publication date and time for each result table is shown nearby, clicking that text may also force a Javascript refresh.

FAQ
1. I often have to refresh my browser to see the latest results/information, what can I do to mitigate this? Look in your browser's settings and set to "always reload page". Some versions of Internet Explorer are particularly keen not to reload pages, why not try another browser.
My Favourite browser is Opera , this has been the pace setter since the 90s' with long standing features that other browsers call new. It also has an enviable security record and strives to be fully standards compliant. It also incorporate a very dependable Email client, so if you have suffered yet another of those "Outlook Outrages" - look no further. If you are still on a dialup Opera also has a fantastic TURBO setting that speeds up browsing on slow connections. You can get Opera Mini for phones or smart phones which can integrate with your desktop Opera favourites and notes ----- Oh no I have been going on a bit! I should recommend another browser, it's as fast as Opera but takes the lean and mean path. Optimised for the new on-line apps CHROME is pretty well essential to get the best out of things like Google docs.

2. Even when I refresh the page I see an out of date web page? This can be to your internet supplier sending you its own stored version (Cache) of a particular page, this is usually a temporary situation and should not happen regularly.

Sadly, another lean night of racing with just 6 contenders. We went for the double shot - repeating the classes after the break.

From the start it was a night of 2 races with Keith, Jim and Dave L scrapping for the top title while Wez, Matt and myself scratched around in their dust. By half time it was Jim with 67, Keith 66 and Dave 61, some how I had managed to lord it (nice one eh Dave?) over Wez and Matt with 40, 35 and 31.

Second shot then - up front it was business as usual till the final round and Jim had a ghastly 8 while Keith managed an impressive 16, which was enough to give K the night with 134, followed with J on 130 and D on 119. Wez sorted out his Gold Member in the Carrera Muscle class, I failed to replicate my ace form in the Hornby F1s' and all of a sudden it was "FIGHT ON". By the final round Wez was in front and I needed to make up 6 points, it was Bolwextric Accord against Bolwextric Accord. Wez stayed calm and had his best round while I went wildly to my worst and crashed out big time, oh woe. Matt started to get the hang of staying on and picked up runner up placings and get some miles under his belt - nice work brother. In the end it was W 84, W 71 and M 62 as a Steady Matt picked up the same score as a Wild Will in the second half.

With just 2 rounds to go, is it time to start picking? Keith is looking good for well deserved wins, while Robin and PJ (come on guys, where are you?) are gifting Wez a runner up place in the Clubmans.

QUOTE (Mr.M @ 5 Jul 2011, 10:20) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Ninco and Fly are a bit conspicuous by their absence at the moment.

Ninco n' Fly sound like some dodgy flying squad team, so that would cover, 3 litre Capri, Granada and of course if they are really dodgy a JAG. If so, would we have get into the part and dress with kipper ties, flareds, *** in mouth and call Tony and Jim "GUV"?

Tony has some blues and twos so perhaps half the lanes could run those while the others could be the baddies with Transits, not sure how that would work round the track but it seemed an ideal combo for racing around disused industrial estates, docksides, country tracks and muddy fields.

At the risk of digressing further - the old V4 Transits were pretty handy off road, with the light and gutless engine and twin wheels at the back, intelligently loaded they had good traction if little steering. Pity newer Trannies haven't continued the tradition, EH Tony?

QUOTE (Mr.M @ 19 Jul 2011, 18:56) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Thought I'd better put down the classes we came up with last night, before we all forgot them again.

Fly Classic - from memory we agreed to make it pre-75 to stop it becoming an M1 fest, and we also suggested that tyres can be replaced with ones from any other RTR slotcar because the club Lolas are running different rears. I'm fairly sure they were ones from an SCX Audi R8, but as long as you can show what car they came from they will be fine. But no aftermarket tyres.

Ninco GT Anglewinder.

SCX F1.

NC1 & SCX Junior rally. Any of the SCX or Ninco small hatches, but Ninco has to be NC1 powered, because the club Puntos are.

Did I get that right?

Pretty well, Mr T had the order slightly different and don't forget Open open to end. If no one says otherwise I will list them as here now.

Sorry about the lack of results, hope to get them done tomorrow morning. I been web siteing all day and the old eye lids are gittin eavy ....

MFR final round results now on line

With only 5 racers the final round saw us using 4 lanes and running the classes twice. Keith won the night and the Championship, well done Keef.
The real battle of the night was between Wez and myself and the advantage see-sawed all evening, we reached the last class of the evening and there was little between us, both running Bolwextric Accords I managed a couple of second places but Wez won his penultimate race and managed to stick another evening on me, damn it!

As published now Keith won both the Championship and the Clubmans which we are all very happy about BUT!

I thought a Championship win in the Clubmans banned you from that class for the future but if you check the Championship result archive it seems that Keith has already won the MFR Clubmans so should not have been in the class. If so Wez won the Clubmans - Help me someone!

On the same theme, it l appears I won the Bolwextric Clubmans in the previous Championship (I can't remember that, my drunken celebrations must have blanked my memory bank) so that means I shouldn't be in that class now or in the future - surely? AND Keith has already won the Bolwextric Clubmans which means that Wez has just won that as well.

If someone can put me straight on this Clubmans winners thingy I will adjust things on-line.

QUOTE (AAWSCC @ 4 Aug 2011, 12:17) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I'm with you Keith, I too thought you had to win it twice. Which is why I was surprised that I wasn't in it any more, as I am sure I only won it once.
Will, what have you done ?!!
I have messed up, I was wrong and everyone else was right, 2 clubman Championship wins have always been required for promotion out of Clubmans. BUT-

There is now to be another way out of Clubmans: if you win 3 evenings in entirety (ie not just best clubmans) you will also get promoted, also for the purposes of working this out and unless I hear otherwise I will assume that winning 2 evenings overall and a single Clubmans championship win will also qualify. So to confirm as from now promotion will require:
2 Clubmans Championship wins or
3 overall meeting wins or
1 Clubmans Championship win and 2 overall meeting wins.

The reason for these changes is if a hot racer joins a club, no matter if they won everything going it would take them the best part of a year to leave the clubmans class. With these changes they would probably move out of the Clubmans after 1 championship.

The same system will apply separately to the Bolwextric car club championships as well.

As for the results from previous championships and their affect on promotions, I propose we leave things as they have already been worked out, for me the big advantage of this is I don't have to spend hours looking back through things to "correct" the situation. So far as this affects you, DAVE, I am assuming you have won at least 3 evenings and so you are out of the clubmans, though as this is backdating current regs onto your previous results you are justifiably welcome to appeal

As regards the future state of the clubmans class we have at least 4 racers of similar winning potential plus some rapidly improving newbies, so for the clubmans classes things are looking interesting.

Just 5 racers started the Autumn championship, so we ran through the classes twice for a full on evening of races.
Jim lead from the start to finish the winner on 121 points, Keith and Tony battled away all evening but Keith got the runner up spot by the slenderest of margins, 116 to 115. The Clubmans saw Will take the honours but having to fight towards the end as Chris improved rapidly. Chris and Will used Bolwextric cars exclusively. Puntos from the draw sets, the fly classics from the end cupboard (I used something yellow/white that went rather well), the F1s came from Tony's cupboard, the Nincos were NSXs from the draw sets, and for Open we used Subarus from the end cupboard.

NOTE THAT the next round will not be until September the 12th due to the bank holiday.

We ran the classes in a different order to previously promulgated, I have changed the web site to the order we used, which seemed to work well, perhaps someone could write this order down so we can stick to it:
NC1/SCX Junior Rally
Fly Classic Pre75
SCX F1
Ninco GT AngleW
OPEN open

There you go!

Write it down, eh? Looks like a spot of copy n' paste - hardly counts as writing it down. Even if it's legal it's not really in the spirit - surely?

Round 2 tonight. Summer and holidays are over so we should have more racers for some more intense action.
The clubmans class should see the return of Wez - who has to be the smart tip for the Clubmans win this time around.
