The Old Bushmills Distillery is about 5 miles from home and office.
If I turn right, out of the office entrance and just keep going, I can be sniffing whiskey inside ten minutes flat. They claim it's the oldest licenced distillery in the world and they run guided tours throughout the summer. It used to be free, but now it's about £5 but you get a big Irish sized shot of whiskey at the end of the tour - all very professional. Lots of bilingual students from our local University compete for holiday jobs as tour guides during the Uni vacation periods - nice bit of pocket money and a discount on the goodies too!

So why has it taken me so long to wonder if it would be possible to arrange tours round the Spanish slot car factories?

Would any of you be interested?
Do we have good enough contacts in Spain to ask if it could be arranged?

And, if it could, how would we feel about a similar trip to the Far East?
I just realised, I don't know exactly where the Chinese factory(s?) is/are!
Is it mainland China, Taiwan or Hong Kong? We ought to KNOW these things!
This is a BRILLIANT idea, but I'm not sure if it's possible or practical, in which case, not so brilliant after all!

But I'm sure it's a question worth asking.
What do you think?

The best ideas frequently ain't possible or practical.

Don't think you will get many takers for a trip to China. Spain is a different matter. A bus load of slotheads and slot collectors descending on a factory is a slightly scary one though.

SCX/Tecnitoys is manufactureed in China (as are Hornby) I seem to remember someone asking a while back if they could go to the factory and the reply was NO.

Hornby's factory (i think) is just on the China Mainland near Honk Kong.
