You're right, the modelling is very poor, looks like the folk who made it had never seen a real one.
I don't understand why anyone would pay $1000 for something like that just because it was rare.
The PV544 is one of my favourite 1:1 cars, there's just something about that shape, there are 3 for sale (at varying prices) on Ebay UK at the moment.
