QUOTE 11/07/2004 - Silverstone - The Vicki Butler Henderson and Matthew Marsh team were victorious in the third round of the Trofeo Vodafone Maserati Europa. Today's race was run at Silverstone before the running of the British Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The two English journalists were guests on board the Ermenegildo Zegna VIP car. They held off the challenge of the Fabris/Macari and the Petrini/Grimoldi teams, who finished second and third, respectively. The race was cut short following a clash between Benedetto Marti and Richard Meaden, luckily without any serious consequences for the drivers.
The final standings were based on the order on the lap before the race was interrupted. Fourth place thus went to Luca Frigerio, with Alberto Cerrai and Benedetto Marti coming next.
In the championship overall, Palma still leads with 54 points, three ahead of Cerrai.
Highlights of the race will be broadcast on Thursday 15 July at 22.00 on Sky Sports 2. The programme will be repeated on Sunday 18 July at 13.15 on Sky Sports 1. The 'Pit Lane' show on Friday 16 July on Rai 2 will include a special report on the race. Eurosport will have ample coverage in its monthly series 'Ferrari & Maserati Racing' on Monday 9 August at 24.15.
The next round of the Trofeo Vodafone Maserati Europa is planned for Hockenheim (Germany) on 25 July, again on a Formula 1 weekend.
