Hi guys, this is a slot car i wanted to post since some time, but never had the possibility before, too much travelling..

As of course many of you know much better than me, Mini Dream was an Italian company that started in 1966 and ended its production at the end of the 70s..they produced very fast slot cars even for professional racing, also promoting some good innovations, in 1/24 and 1/32 scale.

There were basically three 1/24 chassis, Mini A, Mini B and Mini C, and a quite good number of bodies..

Now they're quite rare slots, but this one i found in Milan at the end of last year is, for what i've understood reading everything i could find on this topic, the rarest of all: a Mini A chassis with on top a Cooper-Ford body

Just a handful of these bodies are known to exist, and this one is for sure one of the best preserved in absolute, with a stilish clear/blue livery..and imagine that the seller gave me this rarity almost for free..at least this time i saved quite a bit of money..

Enjoy..

HI,

this is not a Cooper Ford body (just the decals say that
) but a Mini B Spider also sayed Mini C body.

If you like to know more about Mini Dream slot car see here: this is a italian forum where 2 slotter writed the full history of mini dream.
The google translator can help reading it:

The Mini B Spyder is simply the Mini A coupe body reworked without a roof. Any attempt to pin it to an existing car would be futile, it is simply a blob with general features of 1967/68 Can Am racing cars.
And I do not believe that it is any scarcer than most other Mini Dream bodies. Maybe Lucio can chime in on this matter.

Hi Philippe,

yes, for sure Lucio can talk better then me about the repop bodies for Mini Dream and Unicar.

I can just say a few that I know: all bodies made by mini Dream were remade by Lucio, and also some bodies for Unicar (like the barchetta aereodinamica).

Some of the original molds for the Mini dreams bodies are still available (made in different material, also in brass) but unfortunately the wife of the Mini dreams owner, is not happy to share them to make the replicas.

At this link:

http://www.tuttoslot.it/forum/topic.asp?TO...amp;whichpage=7

you can see some of this molds and also the son and the nephew of mister Vernaglione, mini dreams founder, presents at our Eca meeting of last week end.

I know that Lucio lately made other nice bodies, maybe Mondial and Kuznia Monza thingies bodies, but was very busy for other stuff in the last months, so we have still to wait for the new editions.

I can't wait for dress my Mondial chassis with the right body

Hi Angelo,
Indeed, I bought some Aerodynamica bodies from Lucio before, and they are just like the original!
I would certainly be interested in a proper Mondial body for our car because it is currently fitted with a Mini Dream coupe body from a Mini A.
It is as difficult for us Yanks to get good Italian slot cars as it must be for you Italians to get the rarer American stuff...

Time for some bartering!

I guess I will place an order with Lucio!
Thanks for waking me up.
