hi
this is my first scx car and i am very happy with it out of the box.Runs very smooth and handles just like the real thing with plenty of tail out action if pushed out the corners.

Has anyone got any first hand experience of chipping these cars to run on scaley digital.?? Will the saloon chip fit or does it have to be the F1 variety.Would prefer to use saloon version as its easier to take power off to run lights permanent...

Thanks for any info..

I don't have the Escort, but I've chipped a few SCX cars, Alfa 156, Corvette and Morgan, not difficult to chip, usually plenty of room, check the chipping guide for some ideas. I would imagine you can get the saloon chip in without problems, i only used the F1 chip on the Morgan cos i couldn't get a saloon chip for it.

Hi BigBird,
SCX saloons have plenty of space for the saloon car chip. When soldering to the power rails in the car rails dont leave the iron on too long else you will melt the bottom of the car under the power rails, the heat conducts through and melts the plastic underneath!

Don't know if this is true for the escort but many scx cars have "brass Rails" on the inside running from the guide to the motor... Cut them bend them or do what you like to them but make sure they arn't still touching the motor terminals... or you will get twin motor feeds... splat there goes your chip!
