Molesey SCC NSR/Scaleauto GT3 Event - 8th December 2019
Vehicle Car Tire Automotive tire Automotive lighting

Entries are invited for the annual GT3 event at Molesey SCC on 8th December 2019. The day will also incorporate the Brian George memorial trophy.

As we did last year, we will be following the national GT3 series rulebook, although for 2019, this will obviously include Scaleauto models, whereas we were exclusively NSR in 2018.

Rules can be found here: https://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=186657

Race format, will be the usual: race once on each lane and then progress to step up finals based on finishing position in heats.

The club will also be open for practice on Saturday 7th December for those who want to make a weekend of it.

Entry fee will be £6 for the Sunday, payable on the day. Saturday practice will be free of charge.

Doors will open at 8am on the Sunday, with Saturday practice running from 12pm until 5pm.

Thanks in advance gents.

Hi Julian, Youn know what I'm going to ask !
As it's not part of the National Series, it seems to me it would be a good opportunity to allow the deeper NSR guide, for a propper multi user evaluation.
Might even persuade me to make the trip darn sarth.

Never has a such a small piece of plastic been responsible for such vigorous discussion! I do agree, the event would provide a useful & realistic test for the deep NSR guide though.

I've had a chat with the guys at the club and in essence, we really don't have a problem with the NSR-4859 guide, being added as an option. However, as this then puts the NSR cars at a 1.3mm (sharp intake of breath) 'advantage' over the standard depth Scaleauto item, the feeling is we'd have to allow the deeper SC-1607 guide on the Scaleauto cars also. Which again, is fine by us.

Before I action this though, would this rule change put off any that have already entered? I doubt it, but I feel I must ask.

Be great to see you at the club again Jeff if you can make it.

After careful consideration, we've decided to allow both the NSR and Scaleauto models to be fitted with their respective 'deep' guide options.

Hopefully this will provide useful feedback for the organisers of the official, national GT3 series.

Thanks.
Hi Julian.

A sensible course of action.

I have no problem with 'live' testing of both of these non standard guides.

As you, and I hope all, GT3 runners will know, the full debate on if to allow the new deep NSR and Scaleauto guides into next years Series, will be heard in our end of season AGM in October/November.

Regards Bill.
Glad to see this being a National Championship round in 2020. Guess I should get some track time in. Add me to the list and I will try my best to get there.
Will do Jeff, thanks.

The club will be open all weekend, so a great opportunity to learn the track...

To everyone's general amazement, it transpires that half of team Demon actually have a life, so places for just Bill Charters and Michael Maloney please.
