What absolute nonsense. I love bikes, when these were announced, I told all my motorcycling friends. Even those with no interest in slot cars thought it was a great idea until it became obvious that they wouldn't lean or corner properly.
Scaley have produced a great big lemon. If they couldn't do it properly, why didn't they use the resources for something else?
Ninco Oranges and Hornby Apples all roughly competitive, but Scalextric Bananas a handful on bends. Fly can do Pineapples, Grapefruits and Mandarins (slightly out of scale Oranges) while Vanquish will bring out a slot Kiwi (come apart in your hands).
Actually, everyone will do Oranges and Apples, Fly limited edition half-eaten ones.
Wish I was good at Photoshop and such trickery; I could have a whole section of fruits with wheels and guides. This is a great April Fool's joke - except now I have spoilt it by telling you all.

Come to think of it, this comment does tend to sound as though it comes from a source that thinks bikers are considered to be too thick to notice any shortcomings.
I am also considerably puzzled by the constant reference to Hornby with regard to slot products. The current marque delineation is Scalextric for slots and the Hornby trade name is reserved for trains and the static kits. Is this some plot to kill the Scalextric name off?
I`m not giving up on the bikes yet until I`ve had a chance to tweak. They were the most closely guarded element of the Toyfair and the demonstrator had kittens when `Timmy jordan` and `Gary the Phone` grabbed the controlers and stole a lap. We noticed that the bikes were varied in design proving they were pre production and we have heard how the pressure has been applied.
If these are truly bought by `new`potential slotties then they may not be too unimpressed. As for us `old fruits` well we are a very demanding bunch and hard to please.
