No doubting the quality of the model but have they vamped these guys up a bit on the max speed issue?

When I finally found some information on the Scaley website - typed "motogp" in the keyword search box, got nothing; typed motorbike in the keyword search, got the 2004 catalogue; typed motobike and restricted my search to the motogp catagory.... got nothing, do they want to sell them I pondered.

Eventually found that they ain't for sale until April which really isn't that far away. Obviously they won't be tilting but will they be faster than has been reported?

Looks more like a road roller than a bike! At least his other creation - BigToe looks like a motorcycle.

As regards MotoGP models. Well as a biker, I'm not impressed by the fact that they don't lean (ARRRGH! NOT THAT OLD CHESTNUT!! ..AGAIN). However the detail and finish cannot be criticised IMHO.

...there is 1 point I still have not understood:
Why is there a motor added and why have they placed these big stands below the motorcycle? As they are designed for shelves only you don't need these feautures?

MotoGP is not more than a bad joke - creating frustration if you've bought a set expecting more than they are...

Thomas may have hit the nail on the head. The MotoGP concept may well sell in numbers to folks who have no intention of putting the little darlings on the track but want them for the cabinet. So sales figures could be good. It's just that when their owners put these track kings on the plexy they may well be disappointed.

April is but a few days away.

Sunday is closer and Adrian will have one of the bikes with him. As you know I wasn`t impressed at Toyfair but they were pre production so maybe they will be ok. We don`t mention shelves in house cos I still haven`t put up the ones `She who must be obeyed` wants fitting and my `Shelf Queen`s` remind her of where our fortune has gone! Both sore points here!!

I have not seen them in action until now; a friend of mine who was at Nurnberg told me they were not so good to watch and/or run; anyway with those big stand ( a big step rearward from realism, I think ) will they ever deslot? And the stands will damage the track?

I will buy one or two for my collection.
Ciao

The first MotoGP race of the season is on Sunday in Barcelona. It would be good marketing if the bikes were available from then on - I'm sure Scaly said they would be released to coincide with the start of the season and also said April. Should we expect to see them available in retailers from monday?

Rossi, on his new bike, is already posting the fastest times.

someone asked adrian that at Pheonix, I think he said end of May. Perhaps someone was there with a better memory or hearing than me though! It didn't stick in my mind too much since moto-gp is not on my shopping list

True they didn`t run but I believe they were the same pre-production models as seen at the toy shows.

Adrian was more than happy for us to pick them up and inspect them closely and take our own pics. I think wankel has hit on a main point which probably does effect speed but I believe once correctly seated in the rails the angle of the dangle is enough to place both wheels onto the track. If this is not the case then I`m sure it contributes to the slow performance and maybe it`s easy to tweak, in which case they may go pretty well?
