Hi, has anyone tryed to fit a ninco type motor into a scx motor pod??, i"ve had a go but the motor shaft is to short, the only motor i"ve got which has a long shaft is a cartrix tx-5, but i would still need the adaptors, who make these?, the car that i tryed this on is scx nascar fitted with the rx-42b.

MSC make adapters and sell a motor to fit the SCX pod, the Ninco NC-7 is supposed to have a long enough shaft and my Team Slot Audi Quattro has SCX mountings but the motor is an NC-2 sized motor with adapters.

When fitting a long can motor into the SCX pod I space the axle so that the motor shaft is not required to hold centre the axle in the chassis. This is good practice with any car.

That's the way to do it. You can use brass tubing either side of the axleshaft or simple spacers between the wheel and bearing. Easy.

Otherwise you'll only have a tiny range of motors with a long enough shaft.

The NC 7 (raider) motor fits no problem due to it having a longer shaft, I've got one in an scx mk2 escort, but to be honest you might as well use an scx pro speed motor, 25,000k and much better than the 42b scx motors.

The RX-4H is an awful motor, if that's the motor you mean, all top end power and no brakes, the one that came with my SCX Pro Porsche 997 has been replaced with a Fly racing long can motor.

But I've found on our 100ft wood track they perform great, and no real problem with brakes.
I've used 4 so far in 2 Mk2 escorts and an LMP and an F1, the only one which is a little tricky to drive is the F1, but I'm sure could be recified with different gear ratios.
