Hello everyone, great to see this forum and to have access to so much info.!
My big passion is group B rally cars and I had the opportunity a couple of years ago to be a passenger next to Stig Blomqvist in a 1985 works Audi Quattro S1 E2 around Castle Combe racetrack at Rally Day 2009. Awesome experience and browsing a model shop in York I found a Revell slot car with exactly the same registration plate as the car I was in, needless to say I bought it and it sat on the shelf at home....until my lovely 5 year old son told mummy that he thought that they should buy me a "race track" for my 40th birthday so it could race my Audi! So I now have Ninco track which is rapidly increasing in size as are the group b slot cars in my collection...so got into this a bit by accident buy really like it and going to the uk slot car festival just cemented this new hobby.....right, need to buy some snow track for some sideways action.....

Hi Sherlock

I bet you are talking about Monk Bar Model Shop?
If so, its a great little model shop, me and the Mrs go to York every year to do our xmas shopping and I always get side tracked and end up spending a few quid in there

If you ever fancy a drive up to Newcastle your welcome to visit us at Tyneside Slot Car Club, it would be ideal for you as we have just build a 16' x 4' single lane slot rally track to go with our main 4 land track

And the old "my five year old son" excuse, I know because I used it when my son was 2!

Very funny....genuine story, honest... I have seen the Rally Loops, is the surface the same as the normal track but it allows you to double the size of your track - right? Do you have them? Any good?

I was actually talking about a Model Shop called P S Hobbies in York ww.pshobbiesandmodels.co.uk - they don't have as large a collection as Monk Bar but the owner seems to like to get the rarer models in and I think does good deals on ninco track bundles, he also has a shop in Scarborough but haven't visited there yet.

Thanks for the offer, my wifes family are from Wallsend so up that way quite a lot so will have to see if I can sort something out.

I assume they're the same surface as the ordinary Ninco track, I haven't got them but do have some home made ones made out of Scalextric Sport track (soon to be replaced with the whole SCX Chron setup) and they are good because they mean you double your track length and also don't have to make a circuit, the track ends don't have to line up.
