Hi Nigel

Away from the mass producers many slot cars use grub screws these days. The 0.95mm is quite common and an allen key is cheaply available at a decent hardware store.

The brass collet is meant to centre on the motor output shaft. The crown-wheel unusual in that it is a separate item but you can move it to set the mesh. It has a small grub screw as well.

For me the separate crown-wheel is a little pointless and over engineered but I suppose you could simply replace it with a Scalex one although it has to be said it does work well once setup.

cheers
Mark

I will check the car when I get home but I am fairly certain that all the grub screws on it are 0.9mm M2

Small size as the slot.it - actually they must be as took the car apart with my sloting plus 0.9 torque wrench.

yes but the .75 allum key only fits the brass collet not the one that the spur gear is on that is the one that needs adjustment if i move brass one it rubs on the motor spindle the grub in the ally spur gear holder is not .075

id just like to point out that a good cheap alternative to those torque wrenches are the wera hex drivers aailable in 0.9mm and 1.3mm and are very decent for the price for those who dont want to shell out the sloting plus/slot.it prices but dont want a stupid little allen key.

my rs200 didnt run great out of the box but with a little love its now smoother than a pint of john smiths.
