Hi,

A quick question. Is it possible to run 6 lane ninco digital?
Or is 4 lane maximum, if there is such a thing as maximum lanes for digital..

Would I need two multilane sensors 40206?

Will 8 cars still be maximum.

Thanks

I don't know if there is a maximum, however, published specifications indicate that at least eight lanes are supported.

Yes.

Yes.

I'm not arguing any point here, however, IMHO, if you're going to have six lanes you may as well run analog.

Thanks michael.

6 or 8 lane digital will have advantage of choosing fastest lane and make that a competitive edge. If I choose to convert to oxygen later with maximum of 20 cars, 6 or 8 lane is no luxury.

Not to belabor the point, but any number of lanes will end up with one or two that are "fastest" and racers will gravitate toward them. If you have 4 or 6 lanes, then it's usually the center two that are best, as they will never have the inside of the sharpest turns, which often trip people up.

But you're right, with 20 cars, more than two lanes would be actually useful. Of course, at that point, you're no longer needing/using the original lap counting system, and you'll have to re-do the track anyway for the new system, so the point is moot. ;-)
