I know you have nothing better to do than read this so here goes:

Just ordered about £60 worth of stuff from Pendle, just to build this one friggin' car (topping my previous best by about £6). Add this to the £20 that I spent getting something sent over from Spain to build a second car. And the £30 that I just spent on a Moto GP bike because I didn't want the hassle of a cheap one from E-Bay, or to wait more than 24 hours before I see it. My god I'm on a spree...

Back to the car: I doubt that it will be a world beater, but my main aim is the engineering prize for innovative cars, and I think both of mine will be up there, hopefully. I'm just determined not to use a Slot.It 956 or a Fly Racing GT1 '98, because everyone does, so surely you can't gain any advantage from using the same as them. My car could go either way, but hopefully I'll at least get the consolation prize.

It's based around an HRS chassis and a Carrera GT body, whilst the spare is a Spanish 956 body on either an SRS chassis or the HRS... or maybe something else... dunno yet.

Any way around they should both win any concours they enter against Slot.It 956's or Racer Porsche's, it's a shame there isn't a concours part really...

Anyway, enough rambling for tonight. Just thought I'd tell you all my cunning plans and see if I could provoke some new discussions...

PS. If you see any cars like the ones above, they were copied from me... (original ideas © Andy Tomlin 2004)

Okay, well the best one is a box standard paint job, that you will have never seen before! Damn my honest nature... The other one with be a custom. I might see if lowrider could knock one up for me...

Cancel the concourse, I might have a chance of winning a real prize...

Tested the Carrera GT/HRS this morning and it's flying. It's quicker than my Fly Racing Lola round my Carrera track, so all looks good... Handles awesome too.

Pictures soon...

Unfortunatly, 10 hour round trip means I won't be able to get down there for Thursday, or even Saturday practise
. Damn work. What time will Saturday practise end? And will Sunday morning practise be only for drivers who weren't there on Saturday?

I've booked a hotel in Stratford so that I can break up the journey and arrive fresh Sunday morning, lol. But if there is any chance of late night practise on Saturday I'll be there.

QUOTE what tyres are you using? Like I'd tell you... lol

I was thinking Proslot, but I have no idea really. Can you give me any hints Jim, Graham or even Rob?

Lotus, I told you countless times that the slot it zero grip tyres are the best tyres to have

No really..

You could probably have late night practise but I think everyone will be eating/drinking or sleeping in bed (except me who will be on sofa
)

As Jim says, the track is now faster than before, aided by the cambered hairpin at the end of the first straight. And also, the addition of a few trees.

Shame about the long journey lotus, i think the chaps from Scotland stayed the night last year. Not sure if that is happening this year though.

Looking forward to it, the pace will be high!

Won't be any faster for me, I've never been there before!

Anyway, good I like fast.... Anyone know what power supply(s) are used? Volts and amps would be useful. Anything else I should know?

Cheers guys,

Lotus

Edit:

What's changed from this picture?

Also, what's up with the straight at the front of the picture (closest to us) is it a bus stop, or just a normal straight, I can't see. Cheers again.

Far right, is now slightly banked. Under the power supply boxes. The Straight in front, is the start and finish straight
no pesky bus stops here

Not sure about voltage, i'm not sure if it's changed/being changed - i'll ask.
