I did have a four lane track but laps were too short, I have tried many shapes and that layout gives a good selection of curves from R1 to R4 and some nice fast bits and some slower bits.
Not too hard for beginners and still fun for those that are better. I have to start work on some green stuff next.

QUOTE (Skeeter @ 13 Dec 2004, 15:25)so with the flyover thats a 2 lane track, that looks ike a 4 lane, yeah? thats such a cool idea, cos most tracks of that length take up way more room than that. im impressed, nice looking track

Impressive site! & a man after my own heart. Most of my cars are from about the same era. Sierras, TR7s, Minis, 911s and a couple of Metros have just been given to me (as scrappers!!!). They go like stink with a new set of tyres!!!

Keep up the good work!

I just sold loads of 70s F1 and saloon car scrappers plus a large pile of other left over 70s car bits on ebay, Bit late now but could have offered you missing bits for repair of your scrappers.

I always wondered which cars you have collected; blimey you have near enough all of them!

From recollection, you must have near enough all the cars from the seventies/eighties although I have got to ask, where the Superstox are.

A very impressive collection, a fine choice of cars, I collect virtually identical cars myself, although some cars still elude me but steadily getting there. I have to ask what your inspiration was. For me it was the 1982 Scalextric Catalogue (the best slot car catalogue by far, excluding the sixties editions) I spent days poring over the pictures contained within, making a promise to buy some of the cars… one day.

The trouble is for me, instead of basing my collection on one area and sticking with it, I go off on tangents, too easily tempted by today's cars so it's taken longer to collect these oldies. I like the basic simplicity of these models, whether appearance wise or driving, they are for me slot car racing in the most unadulterated format.

I couldn't help noticing some cars such as the sidecars in combination Blue/Yellow, also a dark Blue BRM P160; forgive me for asking, any further information on these?

All the best

Hi Jamie.

I started as a kid around the early 70s with a basic set that had a figure 8 track and two UOP shadows, they are still there in the pics, I got a few cars Datsun, Mini, Escort, JPS, Tyrell and then found out a friend of my fathers worked for Triang in the model shop. The 281/282 sidecars, the BRMs and the white Wolf all came from him along with some other cars, track and scenery. In 1981 I got into motorcycles and packed it all into boxes. I started again about three years ago when my eldest daughter found it all in the loft
I have decided that the 70s-80s is where I will stay and collect the cars that I remember. I have not looked at the stocks or the lorries as they are not really my thing, but who knows what I will collect next. I have a few still on my list and buy them as and when money and the cars are around at the same time.

Phil.
