Series Registration and race fees.

To compete in the championship, you must register by round 3 (Rockingham) at the latest.
The registered drivers limit of 44.
Guest drivers are welcome and pay the same race fee.

Registration fee is £8.00.
This money will kept and administered by the Series co-ordinator, for the end of year championship Trophies and other series costs, + an end of season prize draw.

Race fee is £7.00 at all rounds. This money to be kept by the hosting club.

The championship Classes.
Class 1.
Age up to and Including 50 years old

Class 2
Age 51 and above

All ages are as of age on 1/1/2017.

Overall League Champion.
The Driver from either class who has accumulated the most points in the Championship.

Points Awarded and tie break rules.

Each class and overall league will be awarded the same points scores.
1st 50 points.
2nd 47 ,, ,,
3rd 45 ,, ,,
4th 42 ,, ,,
5th 40 ,, ,,
6th 39 ,, ,,
then going down in one point increments.

New class for 2018; Club championship.
All registered drivers may enter this championship.
They must state at registration what club they wish to be affiliated too.
The top 2 drivers scores from each club at all rounds will be recorded, and the highest accumulated score from all rounds will be the winner of the Club Trophy.
Score will be 20 points for 1st going in down in 1 point increments if 10 or less Clubs are registered if 11 or more then 25 points going down in 1 point increments will be used.
Ties will decided be highest score, count back.
A single trophy for 1st place will be awarded for this Championship.

In the overall league, all drivers from both classes compete together with results based on each race day final finishing order, regardless of class.

Both age classes will use best 3 from 5 scores for championship total.
Overall league (and Club class) will use all points scored at all rounds.

Tie break is a three tier system.
1st Tie break;
If scores level after best three counted, the driver with the highest 4th score takes precedence, if still level then highest 5th score counts.
2nd Tie break; If scores still level after T/B 1, then 'count back highest score' will apply. Most wins, second place, etc.
3rd Tie break;
If scores still level after T/B 2, then the driver with the highest Overall championship position will prevail.

In the Overall League and Club Class, count back highest score is the tie breaker.

Meeting Formats.
Each round holding Club can choose one of the 2 following Race Formats.
Qualifying.
The Series encourages clubs to hold pre race qualifying.
Where time permits, clubs should use this option as this will give the best heat groups, based on real track lap times.
Where this option is not used, clubs must use the Overall championship table to decide heat groups.

1. Distance only. All heat totals to count, greatest lap total wins, no finals.
Heats may be either 3-4 or 5 minute duration only.

2.Heats and finals. Heats to be 3 or 4 minutes. All heat lap totals to count, followed by step up ladder finals.
Step up finals will be single driver on 4 lane tracks, with the choice of single or double driver step ups for 6 lane tracks (host clubs preference)
All Finals to be over a fixed lap total. All guest drivers to have their own Final(s)

Driver Race etiquette.
Model breakdown during racing;

Series Rule.
Option 1. (preferred)
The driver may call a 'pit assistant' to the track and ask him to retrieve the model, take it to the pits, and attempt to repair it. If the model is repaired, it must be replaced back on track at EXACTLY the same place it was taken from.
Option 2.
If no pit assistant is available, then the driver may, discretely and with due respect for his fellow racers, leave the drivers rostrum, and attempt a repair at the pits. If repaired, he must then replace the model at the same point on the track, and return, discretly, to the rostrom.
Note;
No 'spare' cars may be placed on the track for the driver to continue clocking up laps whilst someone else makes a repair to the model, and then removes the 'spare', and replaces the original model back on the track...this action is Not Alowed.
The normal end of race 'test track and if fault found, driver has a right to re-run' is not affected by this ruling.

Trophies.
Each club will be responsible for providing 2 trophies for their championship round. To be paid for from the race fee income received on the event day. The trophies are awarded too each class winner on the day.

Championship trophies and prizes.
Each class will be awarded 3 trophies, for 1st 2nd and 3rd in each class.

Three trophies will also be awarded for the top three in the overall League, and this championship will have equal status to the Class Championships
These trophies will be purchased form the driver registration fees.

Prizes.
For 2018, the Series will again provide prizes for this championship.
A 'Star Prize' of an NSR GT3 model, + as many other prizes as can be afforded, will be won by registered drivers who have competed in at least 2 rounds of the 2017 series.
The draw will take place at the last round of the season (North Staffs October 2nd).
This will be a simple raffle type, drivers registration Number drawn out of a lotto wheel.

Kind Regards.
Bill Charters,
... Series Coordinator

# Note; A new 2018 Series poster will be designed and placed on the information thread soon.
All clubs are invited to print this off and use in their Clubs to help promote the Series.#

Hi Bill

Bravo for doing this and I will be at more rounds this year. Having won a round at Rockingham many years ago I stupidly thought I could be on the pace, but the pace has moved on without me! This is a very good series with top tracks and top drivers, I just gotta raise my game to get in the mix.

See you around

Thank you David.
It is always nice to hear positive responses to the Series.
You are very capable of winning not just your home round, but the Class 2 championship as well.
You just need to get to as many rounds as you can.
See you soon no doubt.
Regards Bill.

You state that "drop arms are to be used as originally supplied with car", they are RED but you cannot purchase a RED drop arm in the uk only VIOLET, same pt.no 1234, therefore you should amend mention of that item.

Hi Crusader.

The models have been supplied with Red, Violet/Brown, and I have seen a white one fitted as original!

I have just purchased from Pendle Slot Racing a new 'Red' drop arm, so there is current availability of these.

The reason the rule states 'as supplied with the model' is to cover any possible availability issues of any particular colour drop arm.

Ok, but if you look at Pendle or Top Slots websites they describe and show a picture of a Violet arm only, So if you order pt.no 1234 and it turns out to be Violet as stated where does one stand ( I might add that I do not race in NSR national series)

Hi Crusader.

There would be no problem from a scrutineering standpoint.

We take a pragmatic view of availability of parts, we would not want to stop someone racing because any particular part was unavailable at the time. As long as an appropriate NSR component is fitted in its place, then we would allow it to race. Where we are strict is Motors, we would only allow any of the three stated legal motors. Tyres, only NSR rubber type on the rear. Wheels only NSR type as stated. Chassis must be black standard type. Guides any NSR white type. In other words the rules as written.

The first NSR GT3 models did have the violet/brown coloured drop arm, and it maybe they have gone back to that basic plastic colour for the current 'extra hard' drop arms.

We just need to see an NSR made plastic drop arm in place, which is why the rule is worded that way. If we don't mention a component, you could turn up with a 'home brewed'

Metal/Wood. drop arm a say...it does not say anything in the rules about drop arms!

Thanks Richard and all of SMancs for hosting a smooth well run event.

A tale of what ifs and should have for me and most Rockingham members.

Cakes were excellent and very appreciated, new track looks great. Next year you could run both tracks simultaneously and so have 11 racing at once. Now thinking of that we could do that at Rockingham, or even run on the national 8 lane Brsca track, bill would enjoy the grip!

Thanks again
Matt

Can I apologise for not getting a more accessible results post out.

The forum will not allow me to post a jpeg. or a pdf.

I have read the 'how to' and carried out the instructions but no success.

I will try again tomorrow.

If anybody can post the summary results from the spreadsheet i would be grateful and I can then let Bill know it is the correct version.

thanks again for a great days racing
